Quick question about Mr. Potato Head.....I want to purchase a set for my DS (age 2.5) for Christmas. I've been looking on ebay and they have the cutest Disney accessories for Mr. Potato Head!! But, in some of the pictures, it looks like there is a smaller version of the spud...Does anybody know? I would love to get him a bigger version and then a smaller version for desk at work!!

Are there two sizes of Mr. Potato Head's?

no they only come in one size. I wouldn't buy the accessories from Ebay though. People charge a fortune for them. You can call the Disney merchandise line and they will fill a box for you and ship it out. I believe it is $20-25 (can't remember off the top of my head) to stuff a box full. I'm sure you could ask that specific items be included. There are TONS of Disney bits and I know someone posted a website that listed all the items on it at one point, maybe Google would pick it up?

Thanks fellow Hoosier!

So, we are taking a surprise trip to Disney for the Christmas holiday. Maybe I could buy a regular one here and then pick up the Disney parts while we are down there?

That's exactly what I would do. Buy a regular Mr or Mrs. Potato Head at home, and buy just Disney specific parts at WDW. You do NOT have to put a potato in the box, you can fill it with all special parts. Make sure to get arms, as the Disney arms are designed to hold things and the regular arms are not. There is a right and a left, so pay attention to that too. Have fun stuffing your box.

I recently saw a set that came with an ear of corn and other veggies that you could put parts on, too. They were only about 3" tall! I don't think they sell individually...but I know they come in that set! (I think I saw it at Target, but I could be wrong!)

Target has a set that has 3 potato heads, 2 regular sized, and a mini. It also comes with a bunch of pieces & it is about $17. I like the multiple potato head package, so that way DS & I can play together. :) I still love them. LOL. :)

We are getting that for DS for Christmas, and while we were at Disney a few weeks ago we filled up a box of Potato Head parts at County Bounty for $19. My husband worked his magic, and crammed in a TON of parts. We had an extra part that we really wanted, but it wouldn't fit, so they sold it to us for $2.

This is VERY important! LOL Our first time around we only had one side of arms so big problems once we got home.

Sounds like the set we have. DD get it for her birthday a few years ago. It has a smaller potato and a carrot. the pieces make farm animals and it all came in a barn that is supposed to hold everything but the door doesn't stay shut and it all falls out.

I would do as previous poster said, buy a generic Potato Head at home and get the Disney parts at Disney. I wish we had gotten the parts while we were there. DH talked me out of it cuz the potato took up too much space in the box. DS2.5 I think would really love it. Why do I ever listen to DH:confused3 ?

Mr. Potato Head certainly does come in 2 sizes. We have about 4-5 regular size heads, 4 "baby" heads and the vegetable set. We've had the mini ones since ds was little (he's 7 now) so I have no idea where they came from.

BJs has a two potato head set (full size) w/ five "sets" of accessories for $19.99. The sets are:

Princess Spud
King Spud
Mr. Potato Head
Mrs. Potato Head
Chef Spud

The set has "over 40 parts" and includes a mesh bag to "tote all your wacky parts."

I am giving the set to both ds and dd for Christmas and filling a box of parts (thanks for the arm info!) while I'm down at WDW in a few weeks for a second joint gift!

I've been scouring garage sales all summer for extra potato heads. lol I've got 3 girls and they all need their own mr potato head so they don't fight! We bought a box of parts when we were in Disney in 06. When we go back next year we'll be getting another box full too. I can't wait!!

Okay, so do all the "parts" fit the mini heads also?

I'm such a Disney nut that I want to put a "disneyized" smaller potato head on my desk (fun to play with during long stressfull phone calls!)
