We are about to book and I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information on overlapping times and am a bit confused.

Can you get overlapping times or does the system automatically give you non-overlapping times and THEN you can modify? Can you modify to overlapping times before checking out or do you need to checkout with the times they give and THEN you can modify to get overlapping times?

Seems inconsistent, but for me it appear to default to non-overlapping times and then you could modify to overlap sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes 20 minutes.

Overlapping and the system in general is making my head spin. Can't believe I'm saying this but I kinda dread going in a few weeks. I'll need to pack a Costco giant size bottle of Excedrin.

The auto times the system chose for me did not overlap, but I could modify them to overlap by 15 minutes. I tried to overlap more, but couldn't.

My original selections were never overlapping. Any modification or any selection after using an initial selection always allowed overlapping times.

Thank you both for this! My head has been spinning! So do you "check out" with what they give you and then go back in right after and modify to get those overlapping times? Or can you only get overlapping times day of and not in this advance booking mode at all?

You know I really started digging into this last night in prep to book for our trip next week (we were HUGE G+ fans) and this has made me really angry. To spend all this $$$ for this type of headache! We really understood the G+ system and managed to get everything day of, including multiple headliners. I never felt tied to my phone but I feel like now we have to be in hopes of day of drops. I did not mind waking up at 7, especially compared to theses 2am nights trying to figure this out to get the most out of it like we did G+. This makes me nervous. And angry. I wish there was more warning of the change because we booked our MK hotel first on a bounce back offer. It seems like with this new system doing MK later on in your trip makes FAR more sense to get those earlier return times. Getting an earlier return time seems crucial to be able to get multiple headliners in a day. We just had the BEST times going these past 2 years using G+ and this is not the type of stress I paid for lololol.

Hopefully your concerns and anger are unfounded and you find a way to work the new system to completely meet your needs. All previous systems have required a learning curve. Wishing you a great trip! Please report back here once you are back!

I'm so sorry, but this I can't answer! I checked out with the times I had and then went back to modify so I'm really not sure.

I will say, though, I was worried about running out of time and everything being gone so I was really stressed and anxious. That was honestly non-issue. I'm sure it's different during busier times, but I went back like 3 hours later to modify our time for Tiana, and there were still times in the 9:00 hour (which is what we had originally).

This was Tuesday in 7 days out. MK is also our first park day, so we didn't have to put it at the end of the trip to get what we wanted either

I just booked ours a few days ago, and there's really no reason to be anxious or angry. It's not complicated, it worked fine, we had no problem getting exactly what we wanted when we wanted it for every park. I'm sure it will be different in a busier season, but please don't make yourself stressed before you know if you have reason to. There's very good likelihood that it will all be fine.

This is so reassuring, thank you!!

It seemed to me as if MPLL didn’t “want” to overlap, but can be modified to overlap 20 minutes (I have this right now, but it was achieved after checkout!). However, SPLL are more forgiving with overlapping other SPLL and MPLL. I have 45 min overlap with GoG and Remy one day, and 50 min overlap Dwarves and Tron another. According to the vloggers I follow, it is MUCH easier to overlap once in the park with your first attraction “unlocked.”

I booked for next week the other day and I was not able to get overlapping times.
They would SHOW me overlapping times when I went to modify but would not allow me to actually do it.

What I'm curious about is day of when I use my first one say its from 9am-10am and then my next one is from 10am-11am. Will the system allow me to make on for say 9:30am after I tap in for the 9am or will it only give me the option to book one for 11am-12pm?

I hope that is the case but I'm not seeing that as of right now. Unfortunately before this change, we booked our MK hotel first so our MK days are sadly day 1 and 2 (so right at day 7 and 8 for booking). Booking GF was a special thing for the kids and makes sense for us to do MK then. I feel like I'm paying for the convenience to the park. Tiana is a priority for us and right now it's selling out like 9 days in advance according to Thrill Data! I think that's my biggest fear. We had no issues getting on everything we wanted with G+ and it was really smooth sailing with that for us from the getgo. I'm stressed about not getting Tiana and I'm not sure VQ is an option for us. I'm still coping with the idea of paying for MPLL and having to wait on a "standby/VQ" when with G+ we haven't been in a standby line in 2 years. First world problems, I know lol.

Just curious, why isn't VQ an option for you? If I couldn't get Tiana with MPLL, VQ is certainly what I'd be doing.

It would be a miserable time waiting in a long line like that with my children lol 🥴. I would love to not subject myself or the others around me to that haha. I think that’s why we loved G+ so much. We got spoiled and hardly waited in a line. I think the longest we ever waited was 10 mins for SDD once. In the past 2 trips we managed to get on every ride that offers G+ using it and only waited in a standby line for Tomorrowland Transit, Astro Orbitor, and the Carousel. Then our biggest lines were for characters that didn’t offer G+. I’m trying to learn this new system in anticipation of our trip, using thrill data like I have in the past — that was so crucial to planning! But I’m getting a little discouraged to see some things selling out so far in advance and these late return times day of. It’s just not how we’ve done it and is making it hard to plan for the way we are used to doing the parks!

I didn't realize that the VQ line had long waits for Tiana's? Thrill-data seems to have an error with how it's showing VQ wait times for Tiana's. It seems to be linking the maximum boarding group called in a day (BG 170) and calling that the max wait time (170 minutes).

Anyone have real experience with Tiana's VQ actual wait time?

Ignore "wait times" for all VQs in Thrill Data. I don't know what those are supposed to be but they are not wait times. Thrill Data takes its wait times from MDE and MDE does not show wait times for VQs.

Edit; Looking at the Thrill Data pages for the individual rides in question, I no longer see where it refers to "wait times." It used to refer to wait times on those pages, but not now. The rides do appear on the Wait Time Heat Maps for their parks, but the listings were meaningless for the reason I stated above.

I hope it goes well for you! I booked ours with MK being day 2 and was able to pick my time for Tiana with no issues. I went back several hours later and there were still plenty of options even
