Hi all,

I am just starting week 3 of SBD and to be honest not feeling fab - getting lots of headaches and other things I wont go into!!! So I was thinking of moving from SBD to WW as I have lost about 7lbs (was 9lb but seem to have gained 2lb!!!) and feel I can now control my food intake.

What do you think? I am sure I might gain abit while I move over and I will be careful with my carbs intake to start with.

Any adivse pls.

Thanks
Nat

Hi-

I don't follow either plan (SBD or WW). I'm just eating sensibly, watching my fat intake, eating proteins, veggies, fruits, everyday.

If I were you? I'd go for it. You need to be on a plan that you can handle and be on for a long time. This is a lifestyle, life long change that you're making. From what I read, WW is essentially sensibly eating, too. And I'll bet that once you hit goal, "maintenance" includes the same plan plus a few hundred calories added on top. That's it.

So you need to find a plan that you can eat on easily and for a long time. This isn't a "diet" you're on. You're changing life long habits into good habits. If SBD doesn't set with your body/metabolism well, try something else. The better you can handle the program, the longer you'll stick with it, too! And the more weight you'll lose!

Good luck, Nat!

Definately switch to something that you can live with forever.

That being said, I love WW's because I get to eat real food. I try to watch my processed carbs, but I do eat them once in a while. Good luck!

Finding the right plan for you is half the battle, Natty. Try WW and see if that doesn't work better for you.

I'm in a similar situation to you. I lost 30 pounds in the last year the old low fat/exercise way. I stopped exercising for a while and gained back 8 pounds - It was at that point that I tried reduced carbing. I have been low carbing for almost 3 weeks. I lost 5 pounds the first week - then lost two more and then gained back 2. I just don't think this is something I can do for life. The other is looking better for me. Oatmeal & Lean Cuisine here I come!!! Its so much easier too. :D

I'm a WW lifetime member (obviously I've gone off track!) and am now on SBD. I definately plan on doing ww again at some point during my weight loss/ maintenance. I think the plans are quite compatable. I learned portion control etc. through ww, but never quite got my carb habit under control. SBD has helped me with that. I can easily see switching and having the best of both worlds.

I would definitely say that you should give WW a try ... a diet isn't going to work if you're feeling ill while doing it. If you need any help with WW, don't hesitate to post a question here.

My mother and I were just discussing this, too. We’ve been doing SBD together for a week and have each had a few headaches. We’re still planning on finishing Phase 1, and hope the headaches stop during Phase 2. At some point, we’ll probably switch to WW.
