Moving food to second resort?

So we want to order food through wegoshop or other such service for our week long trip in December. We are splitting our stay between BCV and WLV. When we take our luggage to Bell Services to move it to the next resort, will they take the food too? Or do we have to do a separate order with wegoshop? Thanks guys - I love that I can depend on my disboards friends to help me with all the details.

If you pack up the food bell services will move it for you. If anything requires refrigeration, it should be packed separately & clearly marked.

+1. We did a split stay between 3 resorts over 2 weeks and that's exactly what we did.

Bell services will also give you a ticket with the number of bags packed up and in their care so when you go to the next resort, you call Bell Services and they confirm this with you before they bring this up to the room.

Any tips for packing this stuff up? I was thinking of ordering a cheap styrofoam cooler for the cold food.

We used our Owners Locker cooler to pack the cold stuff. One tip though. We unpacked the bags from Garden Grocer and left them on the counter. On towel and trash day the mousekeeper threw the bags away so we didn't have anything to pack the groceries in to move them. If you want to reuse the bags I would hide them somewhere.

They will take it, you can label that it needs to be kept cold, but that doesn't mean it will be kept cold. When we had our stuff moved from the THV to Kidani, our cold stuff was not kept cold. Not even the freezer stuff. How do I know this? When bell services at Kidani delivered our bags and groceries, she admitted without prompting that our fridge items did not make it to the inside of their fridge and had been on a shelf since arriving at Kidani. I have no clue if the THV kept the stuff cool for the 1-3 hours in between the move or not. Just wanted to prepare you. :goodvibes

Same experience here. Apparently they have limited refrigeration space so once it is full, you are out of luck.

"We used our Owners Locker cooler to pack the cold stuff." What's an Owners Locker cooler? Also thanks for the tip about the bags - makes a lot of sense.

As stated they have very limited room for storing cold items. I would be very careful about what you transport, nothing worse than food poisoning on vacation.

We were faced with the similar situation on our last trip, we did a grocery order during the first part of our split stay. People here on the boards said it wasn't the refrigeration at either resort that was worrisome, it was the length of the trip the bags would take to get from resort to resort. Who knows how long it would be on that truck?

So for $15, we took a taxi and transferred our stuff from one resort to the other and made sure our cold stuff got into the bell services fridge ASAP. Not to mention that we had access to our bags all day and could move in as soon as our room was ready.

Just another option to think about.

We've also split a stay between resorts and had items requiring refrigeration. If we haven't been there at the checking in resort to ensure there was room in the new fridge, we used a soft-sided collapsible cooler and either used icepacks we brought from home and had in the freezer, or used a few lidded plastic containers to put ice in, and use them to chill it down. Usually did the latter during cooler month stays.
