Moving a resort-only-stay to an earlier date (rather than later in the year)?

We live in IL and today Chicago announced a quarantine order for travel to FL and many other states. We aren't flying out of Chicago, but I feel like a statewide quarantine order is coming next. I have a work obligation in early August that starts the day we would return from our late July/ early August trip. I wouldn't have time to quarantine for two weeks, so I would have to cancel our trip. We booked two separate reservations (added on a few days in May) so I was thinking about moving the second reservation up to an early July trip as a backup. Has anyone been successful in moving their trip to an earlier date? I've only seen posts about moving a trip to later in the year.

Sure Disney would allow you to modify your dates to arrive earlier if there is availability. It really comes down to timing. Here is the list of resort opening scheduled.
