Looking for recommendations for movies to watch with my 2 boys (6 & 8) before our trip in December. They tend to avoid all of the princess movies. Should I rent them anyway?

Are you wanting to watch movies that have park attractions of just for the fun of it? Do you want to give them a preview of the parks?

If you want to do movies that have rides; Toy Story, Lilo and Stitch series, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Pooh, Aladdin, Lion King, Monsters Inc and Nemo are all good choices. If you want to give them a bit of a park preview, try the Sing Along Songs series, number 7 if I remember is the DL one.

I'm not entirely sure what you wanted to know so I HTH!

Jungle Book, Hercules, Incredibles, Cars, Lion King, Peter Pan, Nightmare Before Christmas, Black Cauldron, Robin Hood, Toy Story 1&2, Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Power Rangers, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Dinosaur, Raiders of the Lost Ark (because of stunt show in Disney Studios) are a few. Have fun!

We did a Disney Movie Marathon before we left. We did include the Princesses and at first they complained but I made the rule that even Mommy gets to pick on family movie night:thumbsup2 It was awesome to have DS4 walk into MK and say "look there is Cinderella's castle". We did all the Pixar films, POTC, basically any movie that we would see at the parks.

Have fun!

We rented Swiss Family Robinson before our last trip. My older two kids are 8 & 6 and they really enjoyed the movie. They also loved walking through the treehouse attraction. They said it looked just like the one in the movie.

My boys love the cars movie and I took them to see Ratatouie at the movies. Both are great.:thumbsup2

My 4 yr old son calls the castle "Mickey's House" - but Mickey lets Cinderella go stay there of course.

And to the OP - I'd recommend the Sing Along Songs too - specifically the one that is in the DL park as you'll see a lot of the same attractions. Also there's another "campout" one filmed at Ft. Wilderness that's in frequent rotation at our house. The Animal Kingdom one is OK, but the other 2 are better.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions! I just wanted them to be familiar with most of the characters and some of what we'll see at the parks.
