In a little over 4 weeks we will be arriving in WDW for our 1st Disney vacay as a family! All summer we have been renting classic Disney movies to familiarize our 6 & 8 year old boys with Disney. Some they have never seen and some they have - just to refresh their memories. Classics like Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and the 'newer' movies like Finding Nemo and even the Haunted Mansion. Also some of the old original short Disney cartoons including Mickey and his gang...and the 3 Callebreros (sp?)

Anyway...what other movie suggestions do you have? Just 4 weeks left to get their little minds and hearts in gear ;)

do you kids have favorites?

i wouldn't over do it, for any one going the first time most kids will be familiar with mickey, minnie, goofy, pluto, donald

beyond that i like to say "let the magic happen" my kids loved lilo and stich on dvd, but got super freaked out when they met stich

Maybe something from the late 1980s or early 1990s, like Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast. Nowadays, they're almost as iconic as Snow White or Pinocchio--and they're all just a lot of fun, too!

See this while in theatres, the whole family will relearn the songs and the colors and spirit of the movie
Toy Story series also good to watch,
DS watches Fantasia he says it helps him with the magic
:thumbsup2

You can't go wrong with any of the classic shorts featuring Mickey and the gang. Lion King, Little Mermaid, 101 Dalmatians, Aladdin, and Lady and the Tramp are among my favorites.

beauty and the beast! its great for kids, and they have those characters a lot around the park. they also have a show in Hollywood Studios so your kids could get excited about seeing them!

But basically any disney classic, you cannot go wrong with. There are a few that aren't as seen throughout the parks (like the aristocats or even tarzan maybe), so if you're looking for them to watch something that they will see when they get there, stay towards toy story, the lion king, the little mermaid. And make sure to try at least one character breakfast! They were my favorite as a kid!
