My daughter is wanting to get the twilight movies on the Ipad, but I am wondering if it would be better to wait for Black Friday at Walmart for the hard copy? The prices on Itunes right now are:
Twilight: $4.99
New Moon: $9.99
Eclipse: $9.99

This is all for Standard Def, not HD. We have never used SD, so if any knows how it works/looks, please let me know!

If she bought all she would still have $18.00 left in gift cards for itunes. I am just wondering if the prices would be better at Walmart.. If any has an idea or knows, please let me know! That would be great!:goodvibes

Have you watched movies on the Ipad before and compared HD to Standard? Which do you prefer?

I have an Ipad 2 and to be honest in most cases the screen is much to small to make a difference between HD and Standard. Standard def is just fine.

You could maybe use a DVD ripper after you buy them to convert them for your iPad :goodvibes When I bought Twilight a few years back it came with the digital copy, the other movies did not. My Twilight was a regular DVD so no special HD, I am assuming thats SD works great.

I agree, if you are only watching them on the Ipad standard def is fine. If you are hooking them up to a big screen TV you might notice a bit of a difference.
If she already has gift cards I would just get them that way.

Since she's interested in watching them on her iPad, I'd go that route too. I don't think you're going to get much better pricing on DVD and even if you do get them that way, she'd be watching on TV, not her iPad, right? Isn't the purpose so she can use the iPad?

There is a difference between SD and HD versions of movies when viewing on your iPad2, but not enough to make it worth it to pay the higher cost of HD movies.

I'd buy the movies on dvd, then use software to convert then to a version you can transfer to your iPad2. I use WinX DVD Ripper Platinum.

I have no idea what WalMart pricing for the dvds is or will be.

Does the digital version contain extra features? If not, I'd want the hard copy. In my house, we enjoy the deleted scenes, directors commentaries, etc as much as (and sometimes more than) the movie itself.
