Movie quotes that are part of your daily vocabulary

So many quotes from Animal House! We also us the Lighten up, Francis (Stripes) on a daily basis!

... Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
Seven years of college down the drain
What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Thank you, sir! May I have another?
My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
See if you can guess what I am now.
Do you mind if we dance with your dates?
Wait til Otis sees us.
He loves us! Hey, Otis!
That boy is a P-I-G pig.
Oh boy, is this great!

We also are big Seinfeld quoters. There is always a Seinfeld reference that works itself into every situation. We also say alot from friends...Pivot!!!

Spongebob quotes are a daily occurence in my house.... Act natural! Floor it? Patrick, your genius is showing. He was number 1.....There are just so many that have become part of our vocabulary..lol

Not from movies but T.V.:
"Assbutt" -Supernatural
We say this all the time. Our must popular supernatural quote though is big bag of ....( can't say it on the dis, but if your a supernatural fan , you know it)

Mommie Dearest is a source of inspiration in my house.

"I should have known you'd know where to find the boys AND the booze!"
"If you polish the floor, you have to move the tree!"
"This ain't my first time at the rodeo!"
"Maybe just a little true?"

Yes I know the one ;)
I can seriously make a Supernatural reference at least once a day. DH is only a "casual" viewer though so my one liners are lost :(

My current favorite, with a 7yo drama queen who thinks every scratch is a major wound, is "Its just a flesh wound!" from Monty Python. And "Squirrel!" (from Up) whenever one of the kids gets distracted mid-sentence.

And "I take it black, like my men." (Airplane) is always classic. And "I guess I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue."

There are quite a few from TV too.

I picked up some rather creative, though decidedly not DIS-friendly, phrases from Deb's character on Dexter.
"Claimed!" from The Walking Dead has replaced calling shotgun when the kids are getting in the car.

My teens and I also tend to quote Doctor Who all over the place, while DH just looks confused because he doesn't watch the show. You'd be surprised how often "Don't blink. Don't even blink" can fit into conversation. ;)

My people! :D Like many of you, our family has whole conversations in song lyrics, movie lines, book quotes, etc. Christmas Vacation figures heavily in our repertoire. "She's ugly as sin but a sweet gal and a helluva good cook..." We can recite the whole movie at this point lol. Others that are used frequently:

"Thank you very little" "So I got that going for me, which is nice" "You'll get nothing and like it" (Caddyshack)
"The price is wrong *****" "you can have a nice warm glass of shut the h*ll up" (Happy Gilmore)
"Your Mom goes to college." "Knock it off, (insert name) and make yourself a dang quesadilla" (Napoleon Dynamite)
"If I'm not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer" (Ace Ventura)
"Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking (or smoking etc.)" (Airplane)
"I fart in your general direction (etc.)" Monty Python and the Holy Grail

DH and I will use Full Metal Jacket quotes, too, but not around the young 'uns. ;) If possible, we're even worse with song lyrics. We'll sing it rather than say it. Makes other family members, co-workers, and random strangers crazy lol

Oh yeah, Full Metal Jacket definitely. Most are of course not DIS friendly, but I do love:

DID YOUR PARENTS HAVE ANY CHILDREN THAT LIVED?!?!?!?

What's the story Steph? Grease
I don't know Todd! Chistmas Vacation
The carpet had to get wet somehow! Christmas vacation

My kids actually bought the DW and I the moose mugs from Christmas vacation 2 years ago. Love them!! DW and I will start drinking eggnog from them and start with, "take you out, leave you for dead" "Where's Eddie? He usually eats these dam things" "Newel Post is fixed" Many others to numerous to post'

We also say alot from friends...Pivot!!!

Love it! So do we, and you have to say it with the inflection Ross used! Lol.

We also do his "Fine by me!" when Rachel said we are soo over. And "it tastes like feet!"

Mommie Dearest is a source of inspiration in my house.

Oh my sister and use the "no more wire hangers EVER!" line whenever we can fit it in.

"First ones here! First ones here." "Big Ben...Parliament..." Vacation

"I don't caREEEEEEEE!!!" Dumb & Dumber

"He hates these cans!" The Jerk (this gets said every single trash day)

so funny reading others that I also say on a daily basis...especially "Dishes are DONE" from Babysitter's Dead, the Clueless ones and Animal House and Caddyshack

fun thread!

We pretty much speak Star Wars in our house, lol~ mostly Han Solo

"I've got a bad feeling about this" (Han Solo)

"Never tell me the odds!" (Han Solo)

"Great Kid, don't get cocky" (Han Solo)

"Laugh it up, Fuzzball" (Han Solo)

"What a piece of junk!" (Luke)

"As you wish" (Darth Vader)

and from Forrest Gump:

"Stupid is and Stupid Does"

and from Saturday Night Fever
"You shouldn'ta asked, you shoulda just done it" (Stephanie, when John Travolta was saying I could walk you to her)

"It's all part of the experience Ellen" Christmas Vacation.

"Who's your buddy? Who's your pal?" "Ever have The Aunt Jemima treatment ?" "Army training sir!" "That's the fact Jack!" Stripes

"Russ, Russ!" "This is crazy, this is crazy!!!" Vacation

And from the movie "Survivor" with Robin Williams: "Is there anybody there above the second grade?" "Short and fat, Short and fat!"

"Have fun stormin' the castle!" - The Princess Bride
"Let's just say we're doing it for an old pal in the Army" - White Christmas
"Vermont is beautiful this time of year: all that snow/underwear" (depending on whether it's cold or hot) - White Christmas
"Laugh it up, fuzzball" - Star Wars IV: A New Hope

Yup we use a lot of them from various movies. A few I can think of:

(Unruly kids) "Wish I had ten just like him"; (Clueless about something)"Cowgirls. It's grass. Don't eat it." A League of Their Own
(Want to leave)"F it, Dude. Let's go bowling."; (Being difficult)"I don't roll on Shabbos" The Big Lebowski
(Want someone to move)"Out of the Chair" Star Trek
(Describing Kids)"Two Yutes" ; (Trying to BS someone)"Not Jerry Gallo, Jerry CALLO" My Cousin Vinnie

My husband's entire repertoire for the day involves movie quotes:

Whenever something is really important: "It's important Marion. Trust me."
Whenever something is not really all that great: "It's Boootiful!!" (Raiders of the Lost Ark)
Whenever I'm wearing something new: "What are you supposed to be? Some kind of Cosmonaut?" (Ghostbusters)
Whenever he can't tell if I'm serious: "You serious, Clark?" (Christmas Vacation)
Whenever I've done something right: "Impressive." (Star Wars)
Just walking into a room: "Ha ha ha ha (in Jabba the Hut voice)." (Return of the Jedi)
Whenever something gets screwed up: "You son of a motherless goat" (Three amigos)
Whenever he fixes something: "Fixed the newel post." (Christmas Vacation)
Whenever he locates something that has been missing: "Alexandretta." (IJ and the Last Crusade)
Whenever I ask him to do something: "I'll catch this bird for you. But it ain't gonna be easy." (Jaws)

Obviously it is very annoying living with him. ;)

It's funny because I'm watching all these movies with my kids now and every time they come up, my kids are like, "Wait, they stole dad's line!"

Pretty much every line from Step Brothers and Hangover.

What u talkin bout willis

Just keep swimming.

Roads. Where we're going we dont need roads.

Nobody puts baby in the corner.
