My daughter's birthday is June 1st, but because her best friend will be in town a few weeks later, we are going to have her party the week of June 18-19. She wants a movie party, and it just so happens that Toy Story 3 comes out that weekend. It seems PERFECT. Sadly, none of the theaters around us do organized birthday parties, but we could do pizza and cake at our house, then take the kids to the theater for the show.
My question is, do you think that it is insane to try to plan this for opening weekend? I figure that they will put tickets on sale early for the show, but do you think that this will be like Twilight or Harry Potter, where people will be camping out for tickets? Also, does anyone know how far in advance tickets will go on sale? I was thinking that I could put an RSVP date of June 1st, so that I knew how many kids to plan for (although I am 99% positive that everyone will come). There will only be 7 kids, so I will need about 10 tickets.
So what do you think? Is it doable or am I likely to end up not being able to get tickets after I send invites out?
