Moved from AKL...going to BC and SAB! Superdetailed plans second family trip.

Wow!! Only 18 days!!

Great list!! You should post it here. I started a thread for packing lists. :thumbsup2

Thank you! I think I will once I feel like it is more finalized. I editted it right after I posted it and I have to add some things to it tonight. And I am sure I will make more changes to it before we leave. I think I'll check that thread out though, see if I have forgotten anything...

Yes, I was glad to see your post as we've been planning on going and I wasn't thinking about how much time it might actually take. The P&PP is just messing my whole schedule up as we are early to rise early to bed and staying up one night till midnight is tricky. Maybe I'll start a DTD thread, like on hours and how much time people allot.

P&PP is our one different night too. Fortunately, it is our last night and so I think that works out well. I am going to request a late check out for the next morning because I don't think I want to pack on the day of the party, and I will want to get some good sleep afterward.

Thanks for posting about this thread.I am having a hard time with my list for some reason.

Jeannie, your list is awesome!!I posted a halfhearted list on my report last night but I see it needs major overhaul.:surfweb:

DTD,has great CS.My family loves Earl of Sandwich and I want to try Wolfgang Express this trip.YUM!

Thank you! I have heard great things about Earl of Sandwich, but I look at the Wolfgang menu and I am thinking it looks too tasty to pass up. Nice to have good options to choose from when we are there.

I looked at the $1 section last night and didn't see any laundry bags.I want one!! I have to go back tomorrow and will look closer.I am glad I don't have to worry about weight of luggage.I would be in so much trouble.:goodvibes

They have a bunch of dorm room stuff out now, getting ready for the school year to start up. Look closely in there...sometimes these things go quickly.

It's only a pain with the one suitcase...it's GREAT for car trips:thumbsup2 ...airplane? Not so much.:sad2:

If you care...

I updated my packing list...I forgot some very important things...like DEODORANT!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I DO care!It seems like every time I read a list(and I have read a ton over the last few days) I see something I have forgotten.By the time I update mine it will be a mile long.:surfweb:

I've been working on the costumes for P&PP...DS an DH are soooooo easy...but for me:confused3. Oh, I was having serious problems coming up with something...nothing seemed right...I was getting really :headache: because it just doesn't feel fair sometimes the difficulty I have in coming up with something good for ME!;)

So, I decided to head on over to the Goodwill store to see what I could see that would inspire me. I like thrift shops...kind of like I like garage sales...when I am in the mood...but I digress. I found THE JACKET!!!! It was actually in the men's section, a brushed leather kind of jacket, LONG, it will make the most perfect pirate jacket! It was only $8!! I really worried about it being a jacket...would I just be too hot? Then I decided that I would remove the sleeves (I have some sewing skills) and I would have the most perfect vest type thing...just like Elizabeth in PotC 2! I have my renaissance shirt, which I will wear underneath. I think I will just wear some cut off jeans like DH. I just need to figure out the accessories. :woohoo:

I was thinking about the heat too...isn't the Caribbean hot? I mean, not blazing hot like the desert, but it's hot, like Florida, tropical climate...think of all those clothes that they portrayed them wearing in the film. Did real pirates dress like that?pirate:

So, I really want to post pics of my family ( I love my family:love: )...I did in a thread I started long ago...a different pre-trip report...but DH didn't like that...so I totally deleted/editted all the posts and started over. I think I will take our pics in our costumes...hopefully that will get DH's approval...we call him Safetyman...like the one Recess cartoon..."You Safetyman!" I like it...He takes care of us and watches out for us.

Sounds great!! I am sure it will look fabulous.:goodvibes Do you have a store called Party City? They carry alot of fake Pirate jewelry and other accessories.

We are less then two weeks!!!

So I am fine tuning the plans...:surfweb:

We are going to skip AK this visit.:scared1:

I know...it's crazy...but we spent a bit of time there on our last trip...and I thought going to the pm EMH would be different/new...but then I realized that the Safari will be closed...DS did NOT like Dinosaur...he didn't quite grow tall enough for PW, he says he wants to ride EE, but then he has a funny look on his face...I don't want to get suckered into playing the carnival games, which will all be lit up and looking tempting...the trails will be closed. So, all in all, I don't think there is a whole lot there to interest us this trip, so I have taken it out of the plans.

We are going to go to MGM instead. We hardly saw ANYTHING in MGM on our last trip. We ate at Hollywood and Vine, Star Tours, Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area, ToT, and Fantasmic! and that IT! I think we are more ready to see shows and wonder around this trip. So I have actually scheduled two days at MGM!

WDW is just around the corner!!:cloud9:

Somehow I missed checking your report. We love AK and MGM but I think you made the right decision for your family.:thumbsup2
Your getting soo close!!!:cheer2:

Can you say SINGLE DIGITS?!?!

9 Days!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

And, yes, I have started packing. LOL! The hanging bag is out on the guest bed and the P&PP costumes are in it! I have a laundry basket full of other stuff that is designated for the trip...I will start putting it in Ziplocs today, probably, and making my piles for the other luggage...and separating out our carry on bag(s).

I just have to share, because I think I found the greatest sunscreen EVER! Blue Lizard, from Austrailia. Apparently, the testing for sunscreen there is much greater than here in the US, and this stuff is supposed to be outstanding. The thing that I like the most...240 minutes of protection...hello? waterproof for 4 HOURS!!! That's what my red headed DH, and slightly strawberry blonde DS, and all fair skinned family NEEDS!! It can be expensive...but I found it at my local Kroger and it is 25% off right now.:thumbsup2 And the best part is that I was able to buy 3 oz. tubes, which is travel friendly for airport security...which I need because we will be hitting the pool right after check in!:woohoo:

I have to calm down about our trip...it's getting so close...I was STRESSING over everything that needed to get done and preparing for our trip...I was walking around with such a dull headache for the past two days...today...I will relax:angel: and have fun getting ready and not stress out.:scared1:

Wow!! Only 9 days - and single digits!!! That's awesome!

 :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

I have heard about the Blue Lizard, but I didn't realize it protected for that long. I will have to check into it. DH tans nicely, but the kids and I burn extremely easy.

Take time to relax a bit this week. ;)

YeeHa! Single digits! How very exciting! I will definately be stessing at 9 days as that is the mark when my middle baby starts kindergarten & I have 2 wedding cakes to make. But then at the 4 day mark I will be calm & ready to go. Girls Just Wanna Have FUN!

Single digits!!

Thanks for the info about sunscreen.I have two very fair skinned children and always looking for the best to protect them.:thumbsup2

I love packing for WDW-slow down and enjoy!:goodvibes

I have been too busy getting ready to post!;) 5 Days!:woohoo:

I've been mostly preparing to leave the house for one week, which is more of a concern for us than some because we leave our wonderful cats home alone for that week. I know, some may frown on that:sad2: ...but we have special food container for them, which we always put out when we leave town..etc etc. I just need to cat proof the house before we leave. Our cats are mature but not old...and personally, I think that they do much better here at home alone, sleeping on our beds, sleeping on their cat tower, sleeping on their fav bench, sleeping on the sofa, you get the idea, than being locked in a cage at a kennel for a week.

I did the last grocery shopping today...a well planned visit so we will hopefully leave nothing to rot in the fridge and will hopefully not waste anything either! LOL!

And of course, doing other last minute, fill out the packing list shopping. I just wanted to pass along the latest and greatest find that I haven't read about on these boards...sink sized packages of Tide.:thumbsup2 (Walgreens travel section) For doing those small loads, just in case. This will be great for me because I imagine that the one thing that I might want to wash would be my bras...because quite frankly, I don't own too many...and they might need to get washed with all the heat.:rolleyes1

HI!! You are so close!

I have that Tide,it is great!I agree about the bras...and heat...:goodvibes

Just 5 more days!! WoooooHoooo!! :dance3:

I will have to look into those Tide packs. I, too, don't own very many bras and had planned to wash them in the sink of the room. August heat - in Florida, no less - and bras do not go very well together! :lmao:

I seem to be on track for early to bed tomorrow night. Getting the laundry done now...most everything except clothing is all gathered...I have basically packed my waist pack and DH's. I started packing my messenger bag (for our travel day) with paperwork, etc. Most other things are gathered together and just need to be put into suitcases. The house is generally clean. It's all lookin' good.:goodvibes

I just can't wait to post this...and see my ticker...2 DAYS!!!!!!!

I know ya'll are on pins and needles just wondering if I was able to get to be early tonight!:lmao: The answer is yes! And before I blow it spending too much time on these boards, I am signing off!

I am going to go paint my toes and try to relax so that I can hopefully fall asleep! I just have one more thing to do before bed...DS lost tooth #2 today!
