Mousekeeping Tip??

I just returned from split stay at CSR/WL. On five out of six days, mousekeeping did not take their tip. This happened at both hotels and I have never not had house/mousekeeping take their tip. I left the money ($5 most days) either on the table or TV stand. I felt bad because the room was spotless and we had towel animals some days. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

It was just bare cash sitting on the table? If so, no wonder they did not take it. They would not want to be accused of stealing. When leaving a tip, put it in an envelope with "Mousekeeping" on it. That way there is no question that the money is for them.

I always left my tips on a note clearly marked MouseKeeper and containing a brief expression of thanks.

Hmmmm... The only thing I can think of is that they didn't know it was a tip. Did you leave a note with it? I mean, they surely don't want to take someone's spare change that is laying around...

I always put it in an envelope that I make before my trip that says "Thank you mousekeepers!!" and they always take it.

At CBR and AKL we've gotton notes from the mousekeepers saying thank you.

We always put it in a labeled envelope so they know it is for them. DD likes to write a little thank you and she sometimes even decorates the envelopes.

I always leave the money with a note that says "Thanks Mousekeeping!!!" on the ledge above the sinks with the money under the note...

I have also received small notes from the mousekeepers thanking me for the tips. That has never happened at any other hotel that I have stayed at in the USA and Europe. I really appreciated their kindness in taking the time to say thank you.

We have always left the tip with a note or with the introduction card that mousekeeping leaves on the vanity mirror laying on top of it. They have always taken it and a few have even left a thank you note.
