Mousekeeping-- Tip daily or at the end of the trip?

I have read that some people leave a few dollars a day for Mousekeeping, while others tip only at the end of the trip. Do those who tip daily feel that they get better service from Mousekeeping during their trip? I have only ever tipped hotel housekeeping at the ends of my vacations in the past, but am curious about daily tipping... we will be at POP in just a couple of weeks!!

We just got back from DW and tipped $3.00 per day for 9 days. Our reasoning for tipping a little bit each day was that we thought there may be a different Mousekeeper each day and we wanted to be sure that each person got something. I'm not sure if we should have tipped more or not. We were 4 people, DH, DD-10, DS-9 and myself and we tried to keep the room as tidy as possible.

Cree629, we will also be at POP in a few weeks. We arrive on the 19th of Jan. We typically tip a few dollars per day and a little extra on the final day since there will be more Mousekeeping requirements then. I can't wait to get back to WDW, my home-away-from-home!:goodvibes

We tip $5.00 a day. There is different maids every so many days. I think I get better service, towel animals, extra towels ect. I leave notes they give me extra pillows. They pick up clothes for me & straighten up for me.

$5 a day, everyday because of different mousekeepers...

I leave a note the first day that states I want extra towels and appreciate clean sheets every 2 - 3 days. we've had excellent mousekeeping - no complaints!

This year we got tons of towel animals too...I realize that there isn't a connection on that, but we did love them!!

On our last trip we left $5.00 per day. Our room always looked great and we had zero complaints. We got the extra towels, DD's animals were always in a pose, plus we had several towel animals each day. I have heard of others who did not get a towel animal. I can't say for sure that it had anythign to do with the tipping, but I think it does help. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for".

Happy New Year!

We tipped daily in case it was a different mousekeeper. I did leave notes thanking them too and they always wrote something back each day. It was fun :) No towel animals were ever left though. From some of the posts I read that seems like a big deal for some reason? I haven't figured out why though. If someone cares to explain, that'd be cool!

i also tip $5/day each day......there are different mousekeepers each day so it's the only fair thing to do..

My wife and I tip daily - $3.00.

Last month we left $20 the day we checked out (for a 5 night stay).

No towel animals, a bobbi pin on the floor for the first 2 days until I picked it up myself and threw it out:sad1:

Daily. While your Mousekeeper may not change every day, chances are she/he will have at least one day off during your stay. If it coincides with your departure day, YOUR Mousekeeper got nothing, and someone who's 'simply' prepping the room for the next Guest gets it all.

Daily for me. I want the person doing the work to get the tip.

Daily for us. We take the correct number of envelopes for our trip labelled "Mousekeeping". Ditto as above posters. I feel if you wait til the end, the person cleaning the room might have little incentive to put an extra touch on the room if they won't be on the shift to receive the tip when the family's vacation ends.

Where do you leave the $$ if your leaving it every day? How does the mousekeeper know its for him/her and not just some spare change left behind?

We tip daily and we always do $5.00 a day. Others do more, others do less, but we like $5.00 a day and generally get rewarded with towel animals.:)

We recently stayed at POP for 5 nights and I know we had at least 2 different mousekeepers. To answer the question of how to let them know the money is for them, we made cute envelopes that said "Thank You Mousekeeping" and left them propped up on the table next to the TV each morning before we left for the parks. They noticed it and took it everyday. We tipped $5 each day for our family of four. Hope this helps!

When my family of 5 stayed at CS, I had all 3 children decorate different envelopes that said "house keeping" on them. The kids had a great time and we left a different one propped on the table each day with a $3 tip. In return house keeping was great! The house keeper did not make animal towels but would do something different with the children's stuffed animals they had in the room. I have pictures of the kids posed with their animals arranged on a their blow-up mattress covered with a towel like they were asleep. Another time house keeping tied the window drapes into a hammock and left Simba sleeping there. The children loved returning to their room just to see what had been done while they were gone.:dance3:
