Mousekeeping Return?

Most of the time we have had our room cleaned daily. It wasn't last time, but my daughter may have had the sign on the door. If you let them know you need it cleaned, they will do it.

That’s interesting because when we were there in November they said they would not be doing daily housekeeping but to call if we needed them to bring anything.

Yes, that is what we get told too. However, our room is usually done without asking. In fact, in Feb when we were there, housekeeping came by after we returned from the park and said we had left the sign on the door and asked if we wanted service since we were back. (We usually prefer to have service while we are there.)

Just returned from Disneyland Hotel from a 3 night stay. They had a notice posted on the bedside table that they were doing every other day "light" housekeeping. They did the "light" housekeeping after our 2nd night (arrived Monday afternoon, housekeeping done when we returned Wed. afternoon). It seemed to include everything (such as empty trash, new towels, new cups) except not making the bed. Unfortunately, I can't remember if the notice said that they would do daily housekeeping on request. The light housekeeping was okay with us (party of 2) but I can see that some parties really would need more such as empty trash, new towels, etc. daily. For the even more expensive GCH, anything but daily housekeeping really seems unacceptable, and I don't consider myself that picky. Makes me consider Westin if I were to go back. We came from a Westin in San Francisco and it was a step above the DLH, for example, provided tissues and water bottles and daily housekeeping.

I've heard certain resorts out at WDW started every other day housekeeping service, hopefully it returns to DL soon. I agree, it should be every day without question since other budget hotels seem to offer it now without issues.

Sadly I think Disney's viewpoint is as long as occupancy stays high there's literally no reason for them to improve service. Why bother if guests keep booking rooms?

I was at the Grand Californian Hotel for 2 nights last weekend (11-13 March) - standard room, and my room wasn't touched - no trash emptied, etc. I don't know when regular housekeeping will start up again.

This is disheartening. For the price to stay at GHC, daily housekeeping (even light) should be the norm.

Replacing used towels, replenishing amenities, and cleaning out trash bins should be something that occurs daily without having to request it, imho.

Outside of CL, they aren’t doing it. PLEASE ask for daily housekeeping at check in. It is the only way to get them to bring it back. If guests just quietly accept this downgrade in service (with NO decrease in room prices), why in the world would Disney bring it back since it costs them a lot of money to do it? I have asked for and been given daily housekeeping at the DLH in October and Beach Club at WDW in December. I plan to ask for it at GCH when we go over Easter. I tip the housecleaners every day and ask for daily service at check in. I hope all on this thread ask for it at check in. Short of just not staying on property, that is the only way they will know that people value it and want it back. The chain Hyatts that we stay in for our kid’s sporting events that cost $99/night are doing daily housekeeping for goodness sake (by request, but they do ask you if you want it at check in).
