Mousekeeping Envelopes at the resorts

I posted this on the Community Board, thought it good for here too.

Yikes, that is the second time I have done this, first with resort pictures, now Mousekeeping envelopes!!!!

Well, here is the DIS'er who brings those to us, and part of her family (hubby Adam and one son, Sammy) during their recent trip to WDW.

Dizkneenurse (Heidi) some time ago created, and graciously shared, these very neat tip envelope templates that can be printed out with any color (or b/w) printer on to #9 or #10 sized envelopes. I have used them on many trips to WDW, DL also, and believe me, they are always a hit with Mousekeeping. Makes that daily tip even more fun for them. I always print up a different one for each day of my trip before I leave, always one of those last minute things I am doing as I rush about the day before I leave.

And I love the montage of your family trip out West there on the top, very cool, very creative webpage. If you have not as yet tried those envelopes, print some out next time you make a visit to the World, you, and the CM's will love them.

I did have the pleasure of meeting Heidi, her hubby Adam, and at the time, two children, Zach and Josh (Sammy, in the Epcot picture above was not yet born then) a few years back in the Crystal Palace restaurant at the MK one evening. Nice people for sure, and I always so very much appreciate Heidi's sharing of her Mousekeeping creation.

We've used these envelopes too! It's great to fill them with a $5 bill before we leave and then decide each day of our stay which character to leave behind. I really appreciate Heidi's hard work to make these available to all of us. I never would have thought about making them myself.

How much do you usually tip mousekeeping? Do you tip daily, or save it up for one big tip at the end?

Personally, we tip daily. You might not have the same maid everyday and if you tip them daily you are more likely to get the towel animals and little extras. Also, sometimes when we have two rooms they aren't even cleaned up by the same maid so we leave an envelope in each room. $1, per person, per night.

Heidi your site looks great! I've used your envelopes on 2 trips and they are so great! It so nice to have the money already set aside and not hunting around for it as you're rushing out the door. I hope to go back to Poly in Nov for 7 or 8 nights so I'll be printing out 14 or 16 envelopes-2 each day for morning and turn down service. THANKS AGAIN!

Well, we knew because the towels were set up differently and so were some of the toiletries. I could be wrong but it just seemed that different people had worked on each room. So just to be safe and fair, I assume they are never the same people and use two envelopes - leave it to me to make it more complicated, LOL

I always use one per day, in the AM, when I am leaving the room.

I have returned some days, and had some left untouched, they are so neat looking. So then the next day, I leave an additional note on a piece of note paper saying that the envelope is for them, with an ------->>> pointing to tip envelope.

I used the Christmas ones last December. I left it on the pillow where I knew the MouseKeeper would see it. It was great to be able to "pre-fill" these before we left on the trip. One less stresser while on vacation. Heidi, thank you so much!!!!!!

Thanks so much, Dan! We use Heidi's mousekeeping envelopes every trip, so it's great to be able to put a face with a name. Heidi, if you read this, thank you so much for sharing your website with all of us. It makes our WDW trips even more magical!

Like others have said, we really enjoy printing out and filling our mousekeeping envelopes before the trip. Then we have fun going through the envelopes deciding which one to leave each day. We fill them with $5 and leave one a day.
