Can you request a mousekeeper that will do towel animals? On our first trip...we had one every day. Our boys loved it! Last trip...we did not. Our room was always immaculate and our mousekeeper was very nice and friendly, but no animals. The boys never complained, but they looked hopefully upon each return and there was a bit of drop in their little faces!

Not all housekeeping cast members even know how to do towel animals. I don't know how you would request a housekeeper to do that, as the front desk may not have any idea who is even assigned to clean the rooms. You may have a room request that is more important than a "maid" request, too. And depending on the day, you may have different house keepers. Although I tipped both maids durung my AKL stay (11 nights, $100 total),neither of them left anything except a very clean room and bath area. I believe it is the luck of the draw, not tipping. I have stayed on property 15 times, and never once gotten a towel animal, but if I bought stuffed toys and/or beanies, and left them out, they were often arranged in the window (mod and value) or on the bed. At AKL and CR, I just got a spotless room.

Best of luck in your quest, I hope your boys won't be dissapointed next time. Maybe you can leave out some toys and get some fun that way.

We just returned from the Poly on Thursday. It was the first time we didn't receive towel animals. Our room was perfect and we always had at least 10 towels for the 4 of us along with plenty of soaps and shampoos but no towel animals. We left $5 every day as we always do but didn't expect towel animals. We decided to make the best of it. DD had various stuffed animals that she brought and we had a little fun ourselves. We left her animals in strange places holding the mousekeeping envelopes. We had two Care bears sitting on the vanity with the tip. Once we had all the animals in the middle of the floor in a circle and the envelope in the middle of them. We had a monkey swinging from a lei on the canopy holding the envelope. We had so much fun doing this for our wonderful mousekeeper that we weren't disappointed in the lack of towel animals. Every day she came to our room to thank us for the tip and the way we presented it to her. It felt really good to do something nice for someone that did so much for us. She was assigned 16 rooms a day, all the same rooms every day. I couldn't imagine the front desk trying to find you a room based on towel animals and I wouldn't have to nerve to ask. Next time do something fun for the maid and you will be suprised how quickly your disappointment subsides! :D

I have stayed at Disney over 20 times and not once a towel animal.I didn't even know they did it there.Stuffed animals were always arranged nicely.I think that is so clever leaving the tip in different ways.I hope you don't mind me borrowing your idea next trip.

We have had towel animals on several trips, and we usually stay at Coronado Springs. When we were thene Oct. 11-14, we had 2 in the room when we checked in, a fish and a mickey mouse with ears (using a coaster for the face and 2 washclothes for the ears) On other trips we have had bunnies, had our toiletries arranged on the counter and had towel "cups" made for my husbands shaving stuff, and even had the bath mat made into a bow. We leave a tip on a daily basis, but we didn't get anymore towel animals this trip and our mousekeeper every day for the 3 days was different.

Sure you can ask, but I wouldn't get anyone's expectations up. The mousekeeper's job is to clean your room. Towel animals, toy arranging, etc. are extras and part of the Disney magic. If the "magic" is guaranteed or available upon request, it ceases to the magic. ;)

One problem is a lot of new Mousekeepers in training due to new resorts opening. So many do not know how or have not learned. I would leave a note with the stuffed animals, “PLEASE”.
At the end of the check in counter, at WL, is Guest Services, may want to have a chat with them to what could be worked out.

That's a great idea about leaving the tip in a cute way! there you go! you have to make the best of it and at the same time you got to make someone's day. That is magic :goodvibes :love2: :cool1: :jumping1:
