Motorcycle Camping Trip

I'm considering a motorcycle camping trip to FW sometime in early fall. Are there any concerns or restrictions I need to consider? The group will consist of 4 overaged, reasonably mature Honda riders.

The obvious answer is that you can't race your bikes inside FtW - but you can take them in there. I'm assuming you will be packing tents, so you would only need a partial hook-up site which are the 1500 & 2000 loops. 1500 is a small loop, but right across the street from the Meadow Recreation area. It would be my "recommended" loop for you.

WARNING: You might be mature & responsible when you arrive at FtW, but after you've been there a few hours, all bets are off!! ;)

Thanks for the information and "loop" recommendation. I'm going to the map now and check it out.

Have a Good Holiday,

I moved this out of the FAQ thread, and made a separate thread out of it, so that others can find/read it more easily. :goodvibes

And just to further that note, you won't even be able to use your motorcycles as transportation "within" Ft. Wilderness. You will need to walk or use the buses (or rent a golf cart).

Another thing is if the four of you are sharing a campsite, and are on two or four motorcycles, only one motorcycle will be allowed to park at the campsite. The rest of them will need to be parked in the overflow lot.

The rules are one camping vehicle, any amount of tents and awnings that will fit, and one motor vehicle, and I'm pretty sure that applies to motorcyles also.

The rest of them will need to be parked in the overflow lot. IMHO, this rule is for "cages", so people won't try to get two or more vehicles in a site and half block the street. (oh, wait, they already do that with just one vehicle) If all the cycles are on the site paved area you should be okay, and I have seen two cycles at a site. BTW, there is NO WAY I'd leave my Harleys parked in that overflow lot over night (let alone a Honda ).

The rules are one camping vehicle, any amount of tents and awnings that will fit, Carol would know about this one, I've seen pictures of her site and one motor vehicle, and I'm pretty sure that applies to motorcyles also.

These are just my humble opinions, I am not trying to disrespect Carol.
