Motley Fool says Magic Bands are the DNA of next generation Apple Watch

You can look through their stuff. I'd post a link but it's very long. Basically, the point is that the Magic Band is giving a template for Apple's next watch concept, where all of your information will be stored on it and accessed as easily as MBs theoretically are -- that your life would become as incorporated in thenew watch as MBs are incorporated into a WDW stay. Also said Jobs was the largest single stockholder in Disney and he sat on the board of directors, so he had a ringside seat for the development of MBs.

I don't know if it's accurate or not, but listening to the presentation, it is kind of amazing everything Disney has now funneled into the wrist bands, and with a little tweaking, you could see how it could be extrapolated into life outside of the parks.

Yes, this. It won't let me link or post the website. But if I google Rex Moore Magic Bands and Apple it comes up. It is promotional and an old one that was reprinted.

The company that did some of the actual design of the magic band, including look, physical design, materials, and MDE user/software-interface is called Frog. Frog also does the same thing for Apple on many of their mobile products, ie phones, watch, ipads, ipods. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple did use some of those ideas via Frog.

Yes there was a fantastic article on the behind the scenes including the work frog did on magicbands. It wasn't don't by the fool though it was done by someone else.

I think I read that article. I "confronted" my neighbor afterwards, because he actually works for Frog doing software. He didn't work on Magic Bands though but knew some about them. He told me that he had to keep his mouth shut whenever I would mention them or Disney in the early days of MB. He still doesn't really talk about what he knows. Frog is supposed to be a very discreet company. That's why I think Apple likes working with them. Frog does an interesting variety of work.

Yes frog is a very discrete company. Honestly I didn't even know drop worked with apple and the only reason I know they worked with Disney is from that article about the behind the scenes of magicbands. Really it's fascinating stuff.

There's really nothing that MagicBand does that the Apple Watch doesn't already do. The MagicBand itself is actually very, very basic. Almost nothing except an ID is stored on it. Everything else is on Disney's servers.

Apple already has their iBeacon technology established in their stores and at many ballparks etc. which is all about your location and providing you services in relation to that.

Yep and apple partnered with Marriot I believe to use it to open hotel rooms.

Right now I have no interest in an Apple Watch. That being said, if Disney and Apple incorporated the magicband functionality into the Apple watch and I didn't have to get a new magic band every trip, I would definitely purchase an Apple watch for this. It would be great to link everything to this for every trip!!
