Mother's Day and birthdays..anything special at WDW?

Hi, We are planning to go in May, but can't deicde which week. My ds bday is on May 13th and Mother's Day is the next day. Do they do offer anything special at WDW for special days?

We went Moms day 2004 which was also my DD 2nd bday. When we entered the MK they were giving carnations to all the moms. We also got the bday button for DD and she got a lot of free desserts at some of the meals, but aside from that there wasn't anything extra going on. It was nice though, there was hardly anyone there! Have a great trip. WE are thinking of going May 06 as well.

they give out flowers and there is a Mother's Day Brunch available as well.... They also have special pins available for purchase.

If you stop at guest services they will give you a birthday pin to wear and supposedly characters will approach you if they see it. We did this for my ds last time we went and I don't think anyone really approached him, but he loved wearing that pin. When they signed his autograph book some wrote him a birthday message.

My DS got a buttton from City Hall and loved it. He got a few Happy Birthday's from a few people. We went to dinner at Chef Mickey's that night and they made a big deal. He got his own plastic placemat signed by the characters. The waitress came over and secretly told us when they were going to sing to him so we could get the camerea ready. All the characters came over and hugged and danced with him. He also recieved a HUGE cupcake. He wanted to wear the button the next day. He wore it and got another HUGE cupcake at OHANA's. He said it was his birthday week when the waitress asked him if it was his birthday.
