This is so disturbing. I have heard it on local radio news but I don't know if it has made national news. The death is horrible enough, but perhaps the killer sent text messages to the mother of the victim from her cell phone. I hope that they find this scum.

Mom of LI Woman Found Slain in Conn. Taunted by Texts

COPIAGUE, N.Y. (AP) -- The mother of the Long Island woman whose burning remains were found in Connecticut says she received chilling text messages sent from her daughter's phone after her daughter disappeared.

Barbara Ross says one message said her daughter's boyfriend had her tied up in a basement against her will. But the family says they believe the boyfriend had nothing to do with Rebecca Koster's death.

Police found Koster's burning remains in North Stonington, Conn., late on Dec. 4. The remains were identified Wednesday.

Koster's death has been ruled a homicide. No arrests have been made.

Koster' family believes the messages were from her killer. They believe the texts are an attempt to cover the killer's tracks or divert blame, or a prank.

:sad2: I'm sure that family is going to have a horrible christmas this year. What goes through peoples minds to be able to MURDER someone??

I cried when I read this on Cnn. Those poor parents. My prayers go out to them.

Horrific. My heart goes out to her family....any time of year is a horrible time to lose a child, but during the holidays..well, it makes the worst even more terrible.

May God's loving care surround Karen's family.
