On our way out there was a giant sand sculpture which we thought was pretty cool.

Next up: Fort Wilderness

After leaving Epcot, we went back to the resort and packed everything up :( Then we took a nice break before heading to Fort Wilderness for our late dinner at Hoop De Doo. I had really high hopes for this show considering it was cancelled on our original night.

DD was in one of her moods again.

This resort was amazing. Almost as amazing as Animal Kingdom Lodge. I loved the feel of it and how big it was.

I went to the front desk to get our "tickets" to the show and to find out how to get to Pioneer Hall.

On our way out of the resort we saw this cute little bridge and I just had to take a picture :)

We finally found our way to the boat launch and we managed to get one all to ourselves. It was a nice ride to the beach where the kids got to play a bit...

Then we went to the playground till I saw a white spider on the bench next to me. Playtime was over. We went into the gift shop and spent some more money and then we hung out in front of Pioneer Hall.

Everyone started to gather outside Pioneer Hall.

It was shortly after 9:30 when they rang the bell to welcome everyone in. If you're not familiar with Pioneer Hall, there's the main floor and then the balcony that surrounds the venue. The main floor was about 1/3 full, that's how little our crowd was :) Our waitress came around and talked to everyone about the menu. DH piped up and said he's different so she sent out the chef to talk to him. Luckily, he said he'd be able to make him some grilled cheese sandwiches. Yay! Everyone ordered drinks. MIL ordered Sangria which I had a sip of and they were quite strong. I opted for milk considering we had to be up in only a few hours to catch our flight home!

The show started :)

Six Bit made a joke on our behalf about being from Wisconsin. He said "I love your state motto there, come smell our "dairy air"" lol..

Despite my worries, everyone LOVED the show. Even DH who I thought wouldn't care for this type of thing. We had a blast! And the food... YUM!

DS got picked to go up on stage and be the sheriff! The waitress came over by us and told us what they were going to do with him and that we should try to take as many pics as possible since they're Photopass cameras weren't working at the time.

When the show was over we left and sat at the bus stop till after MIDNIGHT! Yes, it was very, very late and we had to be up by 3am to leave for the airport! Yikes!

DS was the star of the show... on our way back to the lodge on the bus, everyone just raved about him in the show. It was great!

Unfortunately, DH forgot his visor at Pioneer Hall :( I emailed Disney when we got home to see if they could find it but nothing had been turned in. Darn...

We got up and 3am and were on our way by 3:30 :( Turning in the rental van was super easy and before we knew it, we were sitting in the super uncomfortable chairs for a few hours at the airport. When we boarded the plane, DH noticed a flight attendant wearing a pin with a yorkie on it. It made me realize that I would be going home to only 2 dogs, not 3 :( We told her our story and she wished us luck when we landed.

Next up: Puppy Update & VIDEOS!!!

We put an ad in the paper when we got home along with ads on the radio & internet looking for our dog. We got 2 phone calls that a yorkie had been spotted 1-2 miles away from our house. I walked early in the mornings and called her name (so it was quiet) but nothing. Everytime I drove anywhere, I watched on the roads figuring I would see a ball of fur laying somewhere :( Nothing. My dad felt horrible and even offered to buy us a new dog but nothing could replace Penny.

On June 5th I was sitting in the living room with my daughter while babysitting and I remember telling her that Penny was never going to come home. She had either died or someone else had her. I started crying. Not even 10 minutes after I said this to DD, my phone rang and it was DH. He just got a phone call at work from the humane society. He said to me "Go get your dog."

Instantly I started crying. He said someone had brought her in that morning!!! I called my dad to come over and watch the kids for me and he was at my house within a minute. Before going to get her I had to go to the vet's office to make an appointment and get a paper showing her vaccines. On the way there DH called again and he said that the office had called him saying that she may not make it and that she was in pretty bad shape. I was so scared. I never drove so fast (so glad I didn't pass any police!)

When I got there, I filled out the paperwork, paid the fee and found out that she had been hiding in some guy's leaf pile for 2 days before he finally brought her in. He lived a little over a block away from our house! They brought her out and both of her eyes were stuck shut. She was so tiny!!! They said they had picked out over 40 ticks from her ears and that she weighed less than 4 lbs. (she was 8 lbs. before this happened). As soon as she heard my voice, she perked up and would not stop licking me.

After her appointment at the vet, they said she survived on bird seed but didn't have much longer left. We had to start her on small doses of food & give her eye drops because of an ulcer in her eye. Someone at the doc's office overheard her story and they were from the newspaper. They wanted to do a story on her. Penny ended up being on the front page of our newspaper one day with her miracle story!!! She's completely 100% better and so happy to be home. I still can't believe it. 27 days in the wild for a small yorkie is just crazy!

I also wanted to add that in July I began a new career as a Disney Travel Specialist (basically a Disney travel agent!) How cool is that!? I have yet to make a booking (besides myself) but I have a feeling that this might really take off for me :)

So happy that you found your dog! Your new job adventure sounds like so much fun! As for your Epcot meltdown...I think most of us have been there! I would be lying if I said I didn't want to leave my husband in Florida the last night we were there...and I usually like him most of the time! In fact I got a lovely breakfast in bed just this past Sunday after reminding him of that very unpleasant night! I am glad that clearly after the wonderful recount of your dinner that night you moved on and all had a wonderful time! Can't wait to here about your next trip! Enjoy!!

Aw, your yorkie's story made me cry. Poor baby! So glad it had a happy ending! :dogdance:

A new career, hmm. That should be interesting. :thumbsup2
