Mother & Daughter Trip! =-)

Hi Friends!

I'm back to read these awesome boards after a two-year break! Planning a mother/daughter (DD13) in July....we are thrilled. Staying at the DLH and starting to make the other exciting plans like PS at Blue Bayou, Fantasmic dessert buffet...and maybe a surprise limo ride from LAX!

Any suggestions and/or tips would be greatly appreciated! We will be celebrating DD 14th birthday while were there (a little early....but this is a celebration of 8th grade graduation and her birthday for my precious DD). And we're leaving DH and DS at home! Our first "solo" trip.

We're flying to LAX....and hope to surprise her with a limo ride from LAX to DL. Any suggestions and price estimates for roundtrip? I saw 'tonythelimoking' as a suggestion.......I will call in the morning for a price estimate.

THANKS in advance for any feedback......all is welcome.......already enjoyed reading the posts and getting that "welcome back" feeling to these boards! In the past, we've had concierge at DLH, but decided for standard room this time.....since DH won't be around to fetch breakfast for us!lol..and we can have afternoon snacks in our room.

No advice on transportation because we drive to DL, but it sounds like it will be a wonderful trip and your DD is very lucky to have you for a mom! Happy Birthday to her!

On our first trip, my daughter had just turned 14 and it was great as it was our first time in America and our first visit to Disneyland. We had a fantastic time and did lots of shopping and visited a lot of places like Seaworld and Knotts Berry Farm as well.
Our last trip, she was coming up 16, and we stayed for 4 weeks and we had a good time (needed a break as my Mum died 5 weeks beforehand) and did plenty of shopping and lots of DL and CA and also a trip to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.
This year is her 18th birthday present and I am taking her to Rodeo Drive to Tiffany's for her to choose something.
We are using Tony The Limo King picking us up from the airport and taking us back!!! We are going with Happy Traveller and her family so there will be 6 of us in the limo.
I always go away with just my daughter, even when i was married it was just us 2 and I can't imagine going with anybody else!!!

This July will be the first time me and DS (12) will be going by ourselves also. We will be flying also. But, my brother will be picking us up from the airport and taking us to our hotel.

Thanks for the good thoughts! I will call tomorrow to find out about "surprise transportation!"
I'll let you know what I find out!......and another question...

Who do I call for Fantasmic dessert buffet reservations? Is it Guest Services? We are staying at DLH and reservations have been made.

Since you are staying at the resort, Guest services/vacation planning would be the place.
