Mother/Daughter Disney Birthday ideas?

Ok looking for any help and suggestions. Just booked a vacation for this up coming September staying at POR. The week we are going just happens to be my 8 yars old daughters birthday at the start of the trip and wifes birthday at the end. So I was thinking of doing something special for the two ladies in my life. Now, I already know about the B-day pins. (and will probably do the b-day ears) I have thought about setting up a reservation for the 2 of them for afternoon tea. (but do not know if my daughter will really enjoy that) I am also considering doing maybe a fireworks cruise ( we did one years ago) I would love to do the Dessert party, but as of now it is not listed for Sept. yet. (that i know of) Since we are staying at Riverside, I was thinking I could get set them up with a nice carriage ride. (just a thought) Any thoughts or ideas would be wonderful...thank you!!!

Those all sound like wonderful ideas! Its hard to chose which I would do. The tea is a neat idea just for the 2 of them, but would they have to dress up for it?

I personally would love the fireworks cruise as a family something simple and yet a great way to share that magical moment!

Yeah they do not have to dress up for the tea, but they can if they want. I thought it would be a great mother/daughter bonding time. The only reason I say my daughter will not like it, is the menu options are not great..
I am really leaning towards the fireworks cruise and the good news is i have been saving my Disney Rewards points, so I can pay the whole thing (whatever I do) with the points.
