Mother, Daughter and Sausage Dining Review! Final Meal - Complete 9/27!!

Only 5 days to go!! I'm just doing last minute things right now - laundry, packing, printing out confirmations, getting a manicure, picking out outfits ;), etc. My sister is coming to town on Friday and we're going to the MN State Fair to pig out on Saturday. I will post some photos when we get back because I need to practice taking some food photos during my "food training run"!

You wanna know what I'm NOT doing? This girl is NOT changing her ADRs!! :scared1: Can you believe it? It's been a whole two weeks since I've changed anything and I think we are finally set! so here is the final list for those of you that don't want to link all the way back to my first few posts.

Olivia's
Les Chefs de France
Rose & Crown
Cinderella's Royal Table
California Grill
Via Napoli

I might add some while we're there but I'm not going to drop any (at least that's the plan!). I work very near a Disney store so I've been going over there every time I get paid and I add a little bit more to a Disney gift card. As of today I've got $300 on there solely for food. Any bets as to how far over we'll end up going? :rotfl2:

I've been doing "13 Fun Activities" for my DD's 13th birthday and this trip to WDW is the final fun activity. We've had so much fun doing it but it'll be nice to finally have them done as it's taken us forever! Thanks for reading along and I'll post some fun food pics from the fair on Saturday night or Sunday!

So, I just got ALL caught up on everything First of all, I'm a split split stayer..big time!!! Details will be in my future TR/DR.
.:thumbsup2 But I'm w/ ya on that.

Also I FEEEEEl your motion sickness pain, every single time I'm ride in the car. Luckily WS only has the tame Mexico ride,so I hope you get to cocktail it up!!!

Olivia's Banana nut bread french toast is outta this world!!! The rest of the menu looks great too,so I'm looking forward to your review.

OMGOshh!!! Have fun w/ your sausage!!! :lmao: I can't wait for details it's SOO SOOON!!!!

Love the sausage story and your cat! He is adorable! Hope you have a wonderful trip, we will be at WDW during the same time as you, will definitely check back on the thread to see your reviews!

Your trip is so soon! I hope you have a great time, and I can't wait to hear about the Minnesota State Fair, Port Orleans Royal Room, Olivia's, BWI, and everything else! :goodvibes

A fellow split stayer!! I don't anticipate any problems, I think it'll be fun to try out some new places. It's all in the name of research for future trips! :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear about your motion sickness. It's a terrible thing to have and I also get sick in cars (mostly when I'm not the one driving or if I'm in the back seat). Thank goodness those motion sickness patches work for me so I can enjoy some rides with my daughter! :woohoo:

Now I kind of wish that I was going to Olivia's for breakfast! Hmmmm...

Thank you, I think he's pretty adorable too! :goodvibes You're going to be there at the same time? Have a fun time and we can compare stories when we get back! I just hope that darn tropical storm Isaac stays away from WDW!

Coming up fast! I love the 13 days of fun idea!:)

Thanks! It's taken us nearly two months to finish her 13 fun things. We volunteered at an animal shelter, rented a hotel room and spent the night with DD and three of her friends, went to her favorite ice cream place, went to Packers Family Fun night, etc. Not all of the things were epic but we had fun!

Your trip is so soon! I hope you have a great time, and I can't wait to hear about the Minnesota State Fair, Port Orleans Royal Room, Olivia's, BWI, and everything else! :goodvibes

I know, I can't believe we leave on Monday!!:woohoo: And I'm so excited to have the deep fried, cream cheese filled pickle coins at the fair! I think the next few days should go by quickly (or at least I hope they do). I think we're bringing our ipad & ipod along to WDW so I can still keep up on your reviews while I'm there. ::yes::

The only restaurant of your ADRs I have been to is Les Chefs. My son & I enjoyed our meal there.

That is such a good idea to do 13 things for her 13th birthday! How fun.

I'm excited to see your fair food pictures!

Do you think my DH would arrange 44 days of treats for my next birthday and make my 44th one a surprise trip to WDW - no - well a girl can dream :goodvibes:

not long now.

Thanks! I hope we enjoy our meal at Chefs too. I see quite a few things on the menu there that we should both like!

Maybe you could convince your DH that all 44 activities could be rolled into one and that would be a vacation to WDW! I'm sure you can find 44 fun things to go at WDW...kaki gori, caramel corn, dole whips, Mickey ice cream bars, red velvet cupcakes, margarita, napoleons, etc :rotfl2:

or maybe I should just change my name to Chocolate Predictable :rotfl2::thumbsup2

Have fun at the MN state fair! We are going next Friday.

I think our to eat list consists of french fries, corn on the cob, fried snickers, pronto pups. You will have to let me know about anything good you try!

My sister made it to town and we went to the MN State Fair today! We tried a number of yummy things. I have to work tomorrow and then we head to Orlando on Monday morning. I'm very nervous that hurricane Isaac will change our plans but I sure hope not! :scared1:

But in the meantime I will show you some practice photos that I took with my new camera! I'm still not very good at using the various settings (actually I didn't change the settings at all today!). The first thing we saw when we walked into the fair was

Poutine
1fair.jpg

This consists of fries, cheese curds and gravy. I would have loved this if it wasn't for the large amount of pepper. I don't like tons of pepper and this had tons of pepper. The fries were hot and fresh and the cheese was firm but a little bit melty and the gravy was tasty except for all that pepper.

Then I had some deep fried, cream cheese filled pickes with ranch
1fair3.jpg

These were tasty and crunchy! Yum!

I think this red velvet funnel cake with cream cheese icing may have been the winner for today or possibly a tie
1fair5.jpg

This was AMAZING! It was hot and crisp with a distinct "red velvet" flavor. The dusting of powdered sugar and the cream cheese icing made this over the top good! We couldn't finish it and it killed me to have to throw a little away.

Next we had deep fried Spam bites.
1fair7.jpg

I like Spam so I liked these! I know that most people will make fun of Spam but I don't hate it. :rotfl:

Next we had cheeseburger sticks.
1fair4.jpg

These were not my favorite. They contained picke relish and mustard on the inside and I don't especially like either of those.

This was the item that tied for first with the funnel cake. It is sweet corn ice cream with a hot honey butter bacon topping!
1fair2.jpg

Oh man this was soooooo good! I almost got another cup of it. The ice cream itself was not overly sweet and contained some corn nut type crunchy things and the hot topping made it amazing! And in case you're wondering, the lactose drops do work so I've been doing crazy with dairy lately! I already went through a whole bottle of them and another bottle arrived just in time for our trip!

Vince says that I must give up the laptop right now! Wish me luck (and everyone in Florida and elsewher in the path) with hurricane Isaac!

Wow! First of all, beautiful pics - that all looks more like art than street food. The red velvet funnel cake and the sweet corn ice cream with honey butter bacon look like they're to die for - thank goodness you were able to enjoy that awesome dairy!

What a great warmup to the Disney food - I'm drooling right now  Have a great trip (even if the weather is rough)!

Red velvet funnel cake sounds like heaven! Now I wish I had gone to my county fair last week, I know they had a cart there selling all different flavored funnel cakes.

Oh my goodness!!! That looks incredibly delicious! :worship:

All the food looks great!

I was thinking of you when I was checking out the storm path today since you said how nervous you were. I wish you lots of luck!!

Is there a particular brand of the lactase drops you're using? Id like to buy some for DH!:rolleyes2

Oh man that poutine and ice cream looks so good!!! I may have to add those to my must eat lists~!

The funnel cake and the ice cream really were to die for! I wish I could make one more trip back to the fair to get some! Hmmm...maybe I could get there next Sunday after I get back? I might need to be on a diet by that time though!:rotfl2:

This was the best funnel cake I've ever had! Maybe Disney will follow suit and start offering it as well?:scratchin

Oh my goodness!!! That looks incredibly delicious! :worship:

Very delicious! If it didn't cost so much to park and get into the fair I would sneak back there tonight after work!

All the food looks great!

Yes, they are Seeking Health lacase drops and I ordered them online. They are a bit spendy but highly worth it! I've tried many brands and different doses of Lactaid and Lactaid-like pills and nothing has worked until this!

Thanks for wishing me luck with hurricane Isaac. I'm still nervous but what can you do?:confused3

Oh man that poutine and ice cream looks so good!!! I may have to add those to my must eat lists~!

Yes! I would highly recommend the ice cream! And if you don't mind pepper you'll like the poutine. The ice cream is at the Blue Moon Diner, very near the poutine stand (both are near the entrance by the Miracle of Birth center and where all of the buses drop you off). The funnel cake is up on machinery hill. All are highly recommended! :)

Poutine

They look very different from the poutine we tried at Le Cellier last year - where they were very thin over-cooked french fries.

[Then I had some deep fried, cream cheese filled pickes with ranch
I am practically tasting those things along with you :thumbsup2

I think this red velvet funnel cake with cream cheese icing may have been the winner for today or possibly a tie

that looks amazing - now you're making me hungry :lovestruc

Next we had deep fried Spam bites.

English school dinners circa 1980 :rotfl2:

Next we had cheeseburger sticks.
 oh yum yum yum

that sounds like the weirdest combination but looks amazing

Have an amazing trip and hope Isaac keeps out of your way

I'd like the Spam bites too! Spam is a breakfast staple in our family and I had no idea I was supposed to not like it until I was in my teens! Everything looks awesome. One of these days I've got to get to the MN State Fair.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hope that Isaac (who will always be the Love Boat bartender to me) stays clear of the World and your flight path! :woohoo:
