hi all,

Timekeeper to become Monsters Inc.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following was found on Screamscape.com:

2007/2008 - Timekeeper / Monsters Inc. - Rumor - (2/28/06) An insider tells us that Cast Members were informed that Timekeeper was now closed forever and confirmed the rumors about replacing it with a Monsters Inc. dark ride that would be similar to the one just opened in California Adventure

Any thoughts on this?

Hmmmm, Grat. That's really matches the theme.

On the plus side, this will kill any brand monkeys that might have been planning to go to DCA to see this. Reducing wait times for me.

I hope it is true, as I would love to see a Monsters Inc. Ride at Diseny World!!!! But I want them to do a ride where you get to ride on the doors( to help Boo find her door), just like in the movie! Now that would be awesome!

Wouldn't this probably fit better in the Studios, which can use a laid back kid's dark ride.

Ugh, IMO, if they put Monsters Inc. in Tomorrowland, it would just be because there's a space available, I don't see how it possibly relates to the theme of the land at all. As another poster said, maybe the ride could come to MGM, or if there was room in Fantasyland or something, but it seems pretty out of place for Tomorrowland. I rode the DCA Monsters Inc. ride last month and I wasn't terribly impressed, not that it's a bad ride, but just nothing extra special either. My 8yr old DS really enjoyed it, though.

hi all,
i did some thinking about this issue, and i see where it may be able to fit in possiblay in tommorrowland.the buzz ride uses a concept of battries or energy. In the buzz ride you see battries in every room/scene.does'nt mosters inc.use energy as a concept to fuel the city by scaring kids in thier bedroom and at the end by making them laugh?so maybe they will fit it in that way?I know it does not really fit in tommorrowland that well, but if used that way or that whole area(the building that houses buzz and is said to house mosters are the same building)changed to a energy concept, maybe.just my thoughts.

While I'm all over the idea of filling that empty space and creating an attraction, I don't see the fit between Monsters and Tomorrowland. Buzz has the spaceman thing going. I agree that MGM could use a kid friendly dark ride, why not that whole area where "sounds dangerous" is?

I think Monsters (aren't they basically aliens living on another planet?) has as much to do with Tomorrowland as Stitch or Buzz.

I'd also love to see a doors ride - rather than the one that's already in DLC. Not sure how it fits with the tomorrowland theme though...

I don't think a track ride could fit in the existing show bldg.

I agree that it does not fit the theme for TL, to comment on the monsters being aliens, I don't think they are they are in some type of "fantasy world" in side closets, at least that is my take on it, monsters are not all aliens, i.e. Bigfoot, Frankenstine, Dracula, the Mummy, King Kong...
I think they should left TK alone, I was sad to miss it our last trip and will miss it greatly, yet am also excited at the prospect of a cool new attraction. Chuck S is probably right that a track ride would not fit in there. I think they shoud put a non-movie realted ride and put in somthing creative that will fit the theme like EE in AK, there is no Disney movie tie but Yetti and the Hymalayas fits in Asia perfectly.
They need something else "tomorrow" themed not just space themed, no aliens or rocketships.

I would agree that I'd love ot see a Monsters Inc. ride, but not in Tomorrowland. That's just not the right "spot" for it. MGM is overall the better spot, and that "Sounds Dangerous" area is a good location.

I have the same question. The Timekeeper is in the original Circle Vision 360 theatre and I believe there is only one theatre. I don't think a ride-through attraction would fit in the exisiting space. Maybe there is room for expansion in the backstage area.

I have actually heard rumors that has it going into MGM. If I am not mistaken the SD building will be removed, and potentially replaced with Monster's Inc.

Tommorrowland does not sound very logical

Not that I think Monsters should go into the MK tomorrowland, but Buzz is in the building in DL that used to house the Circlevision presentations there. That just means that it is possible, not that it's a good idea.

Yes, but overall the Circlevision bldg in DL is much larger than at MK. They had a HUGE waiting room area at DL as well as a large presentatoin/sponsor area at the end where (when sponsored by AT&T) they showcased the picture phone and had "chatterbox" pay phones, along with AT&T/Bell system displays.

Thanks for the reminder Chuck. I had forgotten (if I ever remembered) about the extra space in the DL CircleVision Building. All I remember is the standing rails and the band marching "past" me.

anything in the sounds dangerous ride would be better than that ride. I would guess it wouldn't fit the mosters ride, but that show or ride or whatever it is is really bad. The old show with Chevy Chase was much better. I hope they do something there.

I thought the same thing when I first saw the movie...What a great ride it would be to travel on a conveyer belt on a "door" up in the air. :)

putting a monster inc. ride in TL would be awesome, i think i would just ignore the fact that it really isn't to futuristic
