I use lots of different resources for planning but if you told me I could only have one and would be prohibited from using any other, then I would pick TourGuideMIKE. I can find the answer to just about all of my questions and it's kept up to date as Disney changes things. Passporter and UOG post updates on their web sites but it doesn't help me when reading the book in my PJs at night. ;)

That said, I like different tools for different reasons. I like getting lots of different opinons and ideas here on the DIS, I like the UOG (and WDW with Kids) b/c I do have the option of curling up with a bit of reading in bed and comprehensive info, I like organizing with the Passporter and I love AllEars for quick easy to find info on stuff like menus etc.

Fortunately, no one is going to force me to use only one resource!

i use the UOG. i actually enjoy reading it. this year we have purchased the passporter deluxe becasue i feel the book and leather case it comes in is perfect for practical use while on vacation. the fold out maps and pockets are very useful.

i use allears net also but my favorite place for info and help planning is here at the DIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rockband: :disrocks: :disrocks: :disrocks:

I love Birnbaum - I buy a new one every year!!

I use multiple planners and sites to plan each of our trips, but I have two very most favorites and they are the DIS and Passporter. I couldn't pick between these, I HAVE to have them both. I also love wdwig for the extensive menus.

We took our first trip to WDW in December and didn't know a thing about WDW. (we've been going to Disneyland forever) I bought the Unofficial Guide and it helped me so much, especially if you know very little about WDW. I learned so much and I would have been lost without it.

The DIS was great for extra information, such as the AP discount on the GF, car rental discount codes, how to make priority seatings, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which restaurants are the best, etc. It's a great place to get the answers to any questions you might have.

I have to pick the DisBoards...I always buy the Birnbaum's for the great pictures (but they aren't very objective), I frequent AllEars for the menus (and love the newsletter), and the unofficial guide is too objective. I am on these boards everyday, sometimes twice a day...although I don't post much, I've learned more here than any of the other sources combined!!

I have all of the guide books, I have read them ad naseum! I have more WDW websites bookmarked than I care to open. But first and foremost the absolute best trip advice I have found has been right here on the DIS! Every question, every little detail I have ever wanted to know, has been answered by YOU!
I mean, come on...can a guide book tell me the best way to get to WDW from MCO to avoid the toll roads? Or how to get onto WDW property using the back roads? Can the guide books tell me the best way to get those prime PS that are so hard to get? or the toll free numbers!? I'll never find how to meet CM DISers, or how to share the cost of an Illuminations cruise - or how to take the best photos of DeVine....oh, my, I can't see the need to ever spend another dime on guide books when the DIS is so informative. There is NOTHING about WDW that you can't find right here.

Every couple of years now I pick up UG and Birnbaums (mostly for the pictures) to read before bed. Before the age of the Internet I used to buy them every year.

The only Disney resources I think anyone needs these days online are DIS and AllEars. Between the two of them you can get virtually every bit of information you may desire about WDW. If it's not already in one of them, just ask and you can bet someone knows. Best of all...they are FREE to everyone.
