I don't have an answer to this question yet. It has been some years since our last cruise and I am making my packing list now. I will answer in a couple weeks. What random item were you SO glad you packed and/ or really wished you Had packed?

Our water bottles. We like to keep hydrated and it was easy enough to refill or top-up at the beverage stations as we were walking by.

I agree with bringing water bottles/thermal cups for drinks. The thing I would have never thought of, but was in our gift basket from DU, was a wristwatch. With smartphones, I never wear a watch normally - but it was really nice to have one on the boat, cause I didn't bother having my phone with me all the time.

I have several random items I am so glad we brought, but I am most glad I brought a cheap pop-up hamper. It took up virtually no space in my luggage since it folds flat and it fit perfectly in the closet by the safe. I liked having dirty clothes all in one spot and it was very easy to just grab the hamper and bring the whole batch to the laundry room when it was full. I saw people in the halls carrying arms full of dirty clothes. I was very happy I had the hamper at that point.

Ziplock bags! They come in handy for so many uses...from the ridiculous to the sublime. Have a kid who wants to change out of a wet bathing suit after a day at a beach - no problem! Have a kid who has to go to the bathroom in the limo on the ride to the port with no exit in sight - no problem! Yes, that actually happened to us. We laughed so hard we almost needed a ziplock bag ourselves!

Water shoes ( the ones that look like rubber socks ) to wear when you ride the AquaDuck. The steps can get very hot while in line and they are allowed to stay on your feet during the ride. Also wear them in the water on CC.

An electric votive or tea light candle Orr two. I keep them in my makeup kit for all my travels. One in the bath and one for the inevitable toe-catcher furniture on the way through the room.

Ziploc bags for storage, packing wet things, and to pack with socks around souvenirs.

Painter's tape for taping bottles closed.

Yoga pants for early morning walks before actually getting ready.

Garbage bags to use as protecting my suitcase contents from rain and then laundry.

poo pourri, ziplock bags, downey wrinkle releaser, small bills for tips ($1 & $2 bills)

We bring our own reusable water bottles/mugs (e.g. the refillable mugs from our WDW stay before the cruise).

But also a small container (2 oz) of dishwashing liquid, so the bottle/mug can actually be cleaned every so often instead of just rinsed.

We also always bring extra Ziploc bags in a few different sizes.

And as a PP noted, a mesh pop-up hamper. I use the popup for putting clean clothes in, and use lightweight cloth laundry bags for the dirty clothes (carrying dirty stuff to the washer: dirty clothes in bag(s), bags in the popup. bags get washed with the laundry. all the clean stuff goes back in the hamper to the room). The hamper is also good for laying things across it that need to airdry.

Ziploc bags, a couple of garbage bags, small bills for tipping. Also I agree with bringing thermal cups but we prefer to buy our's on the boat in the gift shop ;)

Have fun!

Bigger heavy duty clip magnets to hang wet clothes/suits
I get a bunch from Business Marketing events but I think they can be bought in office supply or on-line

scissors
small mending kit

:idea:Love all the suggestions so far! I had better bring my planning notebook over to this thread.l

A hanging room deodorizer (like Yankee) for the bathroom. Sometimes smells come up through the vent and it is a lifesaver. Don't get one too strong as it is a small room.

A nightlight for the room!

For ladies - whatever your preferred feminine hygiene product is. Nothing was worse than the cruise I took where I was 100% sure it was not going to happen during our trip. Lo and behold nature had a different plan and I had to get supplies while we were in the middle of a bus tour in San Juan. I was incredibly embarrassed and had to buy what the little gift store had and then I had to deal with what the cruise line had available since I wasn't prepared at all.
