Most noticeable difference between Disnelyand and Disneyworld...?

Disneyland is great for the rides and attractions per square foot, and the exceptional World of Color. Disney World is better for overall escapism. So many miles of property to get lost in....

I think this is a great thread!

When you look at the two resorts from an "attraction" point of view, DL actually has more attractions per amount of space than WDW....WDW is more spread out. And, while the sheer size of WDW means more attractions, hotels, restaraunts, etc., DL does a pretty good job of keeping up. There is certainly some things that DL does better, and some things that WDW has that DL doesn't, and I enjoy both aspects of both parks.

I think the size and transportation are the key differences to me. The busses at WDW have been getting worse and worse over the past 5 years. It is soooo much easier to just walk at DL. We are fortunate; we stay on site every trip at DL. So, it's just a simple walk out the door to DCA or a small walk to DL. But, I agree with what's been posted: if you are able to stay on site at DL, you won't lose that "magic", and it becomes very similar in escapism to WDW.

I just got back from my first trip to Disneyland and having been to the World many times these are my first impressions/comparisons of the two.

Although Sleeping Beauty's castle is smaller than Cinderellas, I find Sleeping Beauty's to be far more attractive and appealing. It really blew me away how detailed and magical it seemed.

The layout was quite different at Disneyland everything was close together but yet all the lands seemed to flow seamlessly into one another. At WDW I felt the lands somtimes jarred with each other. Also with the layout and space difference my legs were never tired at Disneyland.

Disneyland seemed to have a more magical feel to it, so magical I barely took any pictures because I wanted to view it with my eyes and not through the camera. I think the thought of it being Walt's park made it seem more traditional Disney.

One thing that can't be beat at WDW is EPCOT! EPCOT is truly a wonderful park with it's own vibe. The World showcase is absolutely amazing!

I enjoy both parks and now plan on being a regular visitor to both!
