My daughter (8) is suddenly completely nuts over this thing. We are going to pay for a month of the "members" option for her as a trial (based on her doing some things around the house) but when she was talking about the features, I started to get nervous.

Anyone had any problems with people contacting their kids on this site? We've stressed that she is NOT to friend anyone without our permission, I just wanted to check and make sure there weren't any things we needed to hear about.

I told my husband that I could get better feedback from my "Dis" friends than anywhere else. :rotfl:

Any feedback welcome! (oh, and the computer is in the family room...she has no internet access in her room...we want to be able to monitor her usage)

My friends daughters play it and yes they did have a lot of contact with strangers. They monitor it and have told her not to talk to the strangers. The kids love it buy I have been hesitant to let my child sign up.

DD9 is on, she says that friends "make the tree grow"? My computer is in the kitchen so I'm with her when she's on. I've only ever seen kinda kid stuff like, "what's up?" "how do you get this kind of monster?" that kind of thing. So you have to keep an eye out, but so far we haven't had any problems. It does make it a more "momma watch" game to play tho.
