Moromoto, Wolfgang, or Boathouse?

Traveling in July..we've always eaten at Wolfgang Puck The Dining Room. Wondering if we should try something different with the addition of some signatures at DS. What would you pick...Moromoto Asia, The Boathouse, or Wolfgang?

Our Boathouse dinner in December was beyond horrid so I would not advise you to try there. Our service was terrible, the food ranged from okay to inedible, and the bathroom was filthy. If you must try, I would go for a drink on the dock. That at least looked better.

I haven't personally done any of them yet, but since I had the same dilemma, I'll let you know that I chose Morimoto Asia. But our trip isn't until June so unfortunately I can't tell you if it was a good choice or not yet. I thought it was something more "different" and my daughter is a huge Food Network fan so she was pretty excited about going there. Hopefully I (and you) make the right choice!

We had a great meal at the Boathouse. Our dinner at Morimoto was a bit spotty, but I would give them another shot. I would try something new and go with the menu that appeals most.

I was disappointed with my Boathouse meal, as it was OK but I didn't feel it was worth the price. Morimoto seems to be mostly seafood, so if you're into that it may be worth a try; if you're not seafood fans, then maybe stick with Wolfgang.

We had the best meal of our trip last summer at The Boathouse. I haven't tried Morimoto as it wasn't open last time we visited but we are going back to The Boathouse in March, with friends this time, so we can try the Baked Alaska :)

My husband and I tried Morimoto in Dec and sat upstairs at the sushi bar and it was an amazing meal. We ordered a few rolls and split the duck plate and it was very good. The duck plate fed the two of us just fine.

For our trip this summer I was very interested in the Boathouse after seeing the Menu. It seemed like reviews were very different.

I guess we will just have to decide for ourselves.

We were at Morimotos the weekend it opened and have returned twice. Great Asian food and the bar is wonderful.

Have eaten twice at both Morimota Asia and The Boathouse and each has its highlights. The beef carpaccio at The Boathouse is excellent, and the other items we've tried have been solid. Morimoto Asia is also good, though as with many restaurants, the dishes you choose have varying degrees of success. Their sushi? Passable but not remarkable. Hasn't tasted terribly fresh and last Thursday our rolls weren't rolled well and fell apart. On the other hand, the kung pao chicken was excellent and had just the right amount of heat. I had the buri-bop and it was one of the better meals I've had in the World. Unctuous rice with buttery fish mixed & cooked at your table. Of the two, it also had a better wine list (the Almaria Torrontes is superb for the price), so I guess MA would be my suggestion.

I am trying both Morimoto and the Boathouse on my next trip. If I had to pick just one though, I would go with Morimoto!

The problem with asking people for restaurant advice is that it's so subjective. Someone could have dined at a certain restaurant on a bad night, leading to them having a poor opinion of the place. The only review that would stand out would be from Twende, who commented on the restaurant's cleanliness. Granted, this could be a one-time thing. I'd recommend reading reviews and watching for trends. One or two poor food reviews shouldn't change your mind, but continuous bad food reviews or reviews calling out the sanitary conditions should be a red flag.

Overall, it's gonna depend on your taste. I rarely enjoy an Italian meal at Disney because I'm an Italian food snob from New York. I do, however, love the pizza at Wolfgang Puck Express.

If you like seafood and have the money, spring for BOATHOUSE. It's expensive, but for the most part i've heard good things.

If you like Asian food and you're a foodie who is drawn to Iron Chefs, go for Morimoto.

I've never dined at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant, but I have dined at his steakhouse in NYC. It's the best steakhouse I've ever eaten at. You're going to get a good meal there, most likely, but it won't have the Disney flair that BOATHOUSE has.

You'll never know if you like a place until you try it. We LOVE Narcoossee's, but decided to skip it this year in favor of Artist Point. After booking AP, a certain food blog posted a less-than-stellar review and the comment section seemed to agree. We were nervous. AP would be our Christmas meal, so changing to another spot would be impossible at this point. We went through with it and while it will never take Narcoossee's place, it's a close second. We loved it. And we know that now!

On the other hand, Biergarten receives glowing reviews. Don't get me wrong, it was a good, fun meal - but, it didn't knock our socks off. I doubt we'll be back.

It's all about your taste. I say it all the time... My review of pizza will be very different from someone in Florida. I may love the lobster roll at Boardwalk Bakery, but someone from the New England area would hate it.

Sorry if that wasn't exactly helpful. All in all - see what you like and what you'll be in the mood for.

We didn't have the best experience at Boathouse in January so I would choose one of the other options.

I am trying Morimoto during my trip in July. I have family that lives near WDW and they tried it - said it was excellent.

Here is a link to my other thread on the Boathouse. We have spoken to the manager twice now. Once I spoke with him and the 2nd time my son-in-law did. The manager offered no resolution to our problems other than to tell us if we returned soon , he would see that we had a better visit. As a family group for our reunion we go once a year, so telling us to return soon was NO solution. Things are still being resolved with Disney guest services but nothing will change the poor service, food quality, and lack of cleanliness we experienced. Other guests there on the same night and other dates near ours and they had similar experiences. It is a shame because the location is lovely. http://www.disboards.com/threads/boathouse-was-disappointing.3469306/#post-55232582
