Mornings at DL?

I know at MK at DW they do a whole little show when the park opens, that I always make sure I am there for.... does DL do anything similar?

The only thing I have ever seen them do is the countdown to opening. They picked us one year as one of the families to participate. All they do is bring one or two families inside the entrance and a CM gets everyone all jazzed up and everyone counts down......

Nothing like the show at DW though.

Are the families that are "picked" generally one of the first in line? Is there any rhyme or reason?

We were picked in July and we were first in our line. The next day was a MM and we weren't first in line, but the two families that they picked were.

From what I have seen, yes. We were some of the first few people there one morning and lined up behind another group of people. The security guard started talking to us. A little while later he waved us over to start a new line, then ended up asking DD if we wanted to open the park.

I have to say, we were at rope drop for DCA and that was even less exciting than DL's rope drop.

Not that it's not exciting being there first thing in the morning, but come on, you'd think they could do a little more than just blast some loud "Celebration" music at ya!

My preference (for DL) would be rotating 2-3 songs from Pinocchio (probably the best movie soundtrack ever) at opening & avoid all other songs.

(I guess for DCA, just bite the bullet & do Beach Boy's songs)

Since I'm usually first or second at the turnstiles, we've been asked 4 times to be "the family"....did it once & never again.....delayed us by 20-30 seconds in getting to Peter Pan.

I can't wait to see my DH's face when I tell him I want our family to wear matching shirts. I'll have to make that request specifically for the day of my birthday. Can't say "no" to a birthday request!
