We are having our pre-reception at 10:30 and reception at 11:30am..
What does everyone suggest for drinks at that hour?? The Bar Packages are really expensive and who wants to drink at 11:30am??

Any Suggestions?? For those of you who have had a reception that early what did you provide your guests to drink? Did you do bill by consumption or bill per person??

Thanks :)

We had brunch at the same time, and we didn't provide alcohol. Who needs booze that early in the morning? :rotfl:

Our brunch menu came with coffee, tea and two kinds of juice, and we had a soda and water package.

However, I would *highly* recommend doing Billed on Consumption instead of a package. They told us if we did BOC people would open drinks and walk off and leave them and get new drinks and we'd end up spending more money. Baloney! We paid $900 for a boatload of sodas that no one drank. :headache:

I agree about the BOC. They basically tell you it is a terriable idea to do BOC. So they caluclate what they think people are going to drink and charge you for that. We ended up getting a little over $1,000 back in addition to our deposit b/c people didn't drink close to what they thought!

I had an afternoon reception. The only alcohol we had was mimosas for toasting. They were something like $7 each, which adds up fast!

We are having the Fairy Tale champagne and mimosas. All of our drinks will be BOC.

We are having a 9:00am ceremony, a 10:00 to 11:00 prereception and an 11:00 to 3:00 reception.

At the prereception we are having coffee, tea, decaf and champagne punch and soda BOC.

At our reception we are bringing down any punch that might be left over, and doing BOC for soda, wine and alcohol. We are having 50 people and four will be under 21 but no one is big drinkers but we did want to offer alcohol. I am sure some of the women will want wine with their meal and I am sure some of the guys will want beer after they have eaten. Our food is brunch style but there will also be chicken, a green salad and a pasta salad. We just felt that as everyone is traveling from the NY/NJ area we wanted to make alcohol available to them.
