Hi All ~ We usually book the 6am-ish flight to MCO from Pearson. It means getting up at 3am, but we are at WDW by lunch. Last year we booked the evening flight and got to WDW around 11pm-12am. We didn't like that very much.

This trip we are seriously considering BUF. There are two flights I'm interested in. One leaves BUF at 4:30pm getting to MCO at 7pm. The other leaves the next morning at 7:20am getting to MCO at 10am.

While we like the morning flight, leaving the night before gets us there a day earlier plus we can sleep in the next day [dd pointed that out]. Our room will definately be ready for the later flight.

What do you suggest? Blessings, Sandra

If it were me, I'd take the 4:30p flight a day earlier. You'll still get in early enough that you can have a good night's rest and even get to the parks the next day. I do prefer morning flights as well but I don't think getting in at 7p is really that late. If you take the next morning flight by the time you get your luggage, check in to the resorts it will probably be afternoon, and then I assume you'll be tired from getting up so early to get to BUF etc. Just my $.02 worth!

DW and I are flying out of Buffalo on Dec 26th in the late afternoon and arriving at 7:05pm. We chose this instead of the early morning flight on the 27th.

Last year we flew out of Pearson also arriving at MCO at 7:05pm. We were off the plane by 7:15 and at the ME desk by 7:30. Took 5 mins to get through the ME line and then waited 10 mins for bus to be ready for boarding. Waited another 10 mins on bus before departing for WDW. Arrived at POP Century (it was the first stop) at 8:35. Checked-in and in our room by 9:00. Went for dinner at the food court (3rd turkey dinner in 3 days :thumbsup2 ). Came back to room at 10:00 just as luggage was arriving from ME. Hit the hay at 11:00ish and were in the MK for park opening the next morning!

extra night at POP...$150
extra day of food...$75
MK at park opening with a full night's sleep...Priceless!!!

Ohhhhh...I'd definitely take the flight the day before even if it comes in at 7 pm. You'll be so tired if you take 10 am arrival flight that it's basically a waste of a day anyway.

You'll be able to relax, get a nice dinner and a great night's sleep before you hit the parks.

Last year, we arrived at MCO around 5 pm (flight was delayed on account of SNOW and our flight crew was stuck in Montreal). We still managed, despite taking 30 minutes to pick just the right car from the rental company, to get to Epcot that evening to have dinner at Nine Dragons and watch Illuminations. :goodvibes

LOL...while I don't think you'll be able to swing that with a 7 pm arrival...hope springs eternal. (well, if you're at one of the Epcot resorts...maybe???) :rotfl2:

Sounds like smart planning to me!

Our plane leaves Calgary at 10am and arrives in Orlando at 5pm. We made a ressie at boatwrights and are going to take the boat to Downtown Disney for a looky loo then off to bed for a early morning start. We REALLY have to pace ourselves because we are newbies.

I'll let you know after our December trip!

We have actually done it both ways. I actually prefere the earlier flight. Yes you have to get up early to make your flight. However when we go to disney after we checked in we went and layed down for a little. then had a nice dinner, came back and went to bed, so we were well rested for the next day. When we took the later flight. Our flight was actually delayed for 3hrs. We were suppose to get to disney around 6:00pm but didnt arrive till 10:00pm. We still hadnt had dinner so it was quite late before we got to bed. The next morning we never woke up till 10:00 so got a late start at the parks.

Without a doubt, take the later flight the day before. It gives you an extra evening at Disney.

I myself prefer the early morning flight, its not like I can sleep before we leave anyways " Im too excited to sleep!!". So having to wait all day to go would be like torture. We dont normally go into the parks the day we arrive, we just hang around maybe go to Downtown Disney and just enjoy being in WDW. My sister on the otherhand comes in a day early and does the late night flight because she has no choice that's basically all she can find out of Winnipeg.

When we have flown we always get the early morning flight down and the late night flight home just gives you that little bit more time at Disney.

We have a lot of family living in the US, so we fly a lot. It used to be out of Pearson until a few years ago when we discovered how inexpensive and convenient it is to leave from Buffalo. Right off the top, you save by not paying GST or PST. Parking is secure and very reasonable, the last time we paid $38 a week using a coupon available on the airport's website. Add in the bonus of a smaller, more manageable airport. Try it. What have you got to lose?
