How can I make sure we have coffee in our room each morning? I want to wake up, stay in my jammies and have coffee on the verandah. Can I order a pot through room service or do I have to go scouting for it? Can I bring my own coffee pot? What is available for me as far as options?? (No one on the Sept 11th magic wants to see me before my morning coffee, trust me!!! LOL :) :) :)
Thanks in advance!!!

You can order coffee (and a light breakfast) each night, by filling out the menu card in your room and hanging it on the outside door knob. Room service collects them overnight, and will deliver at the time you specify. In my experience, they are pretty close to on time. This is a great way to start the day.

I believe the first time available is 7:00am for room service delivery. I have heard of people ordering the pot the night before going to bed and it was still hot when they got up. We didn't do this because generally dh was up and out roaming before I was up and would bring me some coffee when he returned to the room. We were pretty early risers so that we could get going and do things in the morning - it was our first cruise.

Does anyone know if you're allowed to actually bring a coffee pot on board? Thanks!

No you are not and you are not allowed to bring on an iron. Because the size of the rooms the risk for fire is too high I believe. Plus there really isn't room for a coffee pot. Now you could probably bring a carafe from home and fill it the night before at the drink station - but it does close around 11 even though it says 11:30 - we found that out often.

I ordered coffee service in the evening and just left the pot closed until I woke up. Tasted totally fresh. The coffee at Topsiders very early in the morning however was not fresh. Yes, it is available, but they don't start new coffee service until 6 am, I didn't think. When I got a cup prior to that, it was just kind of yucky.

We had our coffee delivered before we went to sleep for the night. It was still hot in the morning. That worked the best for me, I need that coffee to start moving.

Hubby loves his morning coffee, so we use room service as our wake-up call in the morning. It definitely is one of the great pleasures of the cruise to welcome the morning out on the verandah with your breakfast. Room service is 24 hours, so even if you are an early bird, you could call rather than order the night before. They are always very prompt.

I thought I read that too in a navigator that Topsiders opens at 6:30 for coffee and for early breakfast --is this a continental breakfast maybe?? You or hubby could take a walk up there for a quick cup of coffee. I'm also an early riser... I'm usually up by 5-6am, so I'm sure I'll be waiting for room service to come with my cup of tea each morning on my verandah.

I need to know how you handle tipping for room service. Is it the same as a regular hotel where you tip when they bring it or is there an envelope for them at the end of the cruise also?

Thanks!!!

Since it is a different person each time you tip as you go, there is no envelope at the end for htem.
