I think when I was that age-- I thought of myself (and my friends) as pretty invincible. If it were NOW, I think I would be worried... but I went to a million concerts in college, and probably would not have been worried about my friend unless SHE sounded worried or scared on the phone.

I agree - I went to a lot of concerts with my friends, even in high school, and the last thing on my mind was my safety. Stupid, I know, but still the truth.

I hope they find this girl. I hate to see these stories!

Was reading about this case over on websleuths and there are some reports that someone saw her in the restroom and she appeared to have fallen and hit her face/been hit. Also reports of her being in the parking lot dropping her purse, etc. later on. So if she did indeed fall (I fall "UP" the steps at our arena all the time - the steps are so narrow I trip over them) and hit her head and this behavior was observed I wonder if she was suffering from some type of head injury. Just something I've been thinking. Still doesn't explain what happened from there though.

Me too. Did some really stupid things. My friend and I drove out of city/state to see a concert on more than one occasion....didn't tell anyone where we were going.....before cell phones......if something would have happened they would have had no idea where to even start to look for us.

Also, being a teen/young adult, into the band, etc.....if someone would have offered to take us backstage to meet the band we would have jumped at it without a second thought......not saying that's what happened. But there are so many possibilities. I do hope they have searched that building completely though. But also think about the truck loads of equipment (stage, sound, etc.) that have already been trucked out of there.........yep, the possibilities are vast.

I agree! Her mother said that they have known these girls since middle school but I am telling you, girls are MEAN. I honestly think that they know something that they are not saying and this is why I think that.

1) Most girls do not go to the bathroom alone during events like this.
2) Why would she have gone outside? I don't believe that for a minute. Most everyone knows that you can't get back in. She had been looking forward to the concert for months too so why would she risk not seeing the band. I don't believe this at all.
3) If the girls were really that "close" why would they have not contacted the girls parents when they could not find her? The parents called the girls 16 hours later.

I believe one of two things has happened. Either the girls got into a fight before the concert and something bad happened then and they are covering it up, OR the girl did meet up with someone there and she left with him. If that had happened, the other girls would still have known and should tell the police who it was. If they all stayed together, they would have seen who she left with or who she was talking to before she left.

I'm telling you, something is up with this and the story just does not add up.

That's another possibility. There has been lots of talk on websleuths of no photos of her at the concert taken by friends, no video footage.....do even know for sure that she even made it to the concert????? Is there proof that she was there. Her purse being found outside in the area could have been placed after the show. I don't think it was there for a long time unless it wasn't very visible........when you have a lot of people in an area for an event like a concert if it would have been visible I think someone would have picked it up.

The landowner told another news outlet it was female with blond hair. A very very sad, if not unexpected, outcome I fear

Anchorage Farms is about 10 miles away from John Paul Jones Arena. It's practically a straight shot south on US29.

this has been on my local news all day. Her family lives in my area. My heart has shattered for her family. They are such good people.
