Sunday: Our Mad Bridal Shower!
Now I must admit, our bridal shower was mostly a surprise. I say mostly because we were clued in before hand that the shower would be at Disney. My bridesmaids and the moms could only string me on so long before they felt guilty and confessed to the surprise. That was the only detail I was given (Jeff was consulted on the whole thing!) but once we received a very generically themed invite instructing us to be at the Whitehall patio on Sunday
I started to get an idea of what was going on.
Sunday also happened to be the morning we were moving from AKV to the Contemporary, so in addition to getting ready for the shower we were packing our stuff up. Unfortunately, bell services was a little more behind than we anticipated and so our plans of taking the bus to MK and hopping the monorail was out. We had to hail another cab to the GF (Ive never used so many taxis at Disney!) and of course we were running late!
We pulled up to the convention center and made our way to the Whtiehall patio. I saw Ken standing at the end of a line of glass paneled French doors and as I passed each door my eyes grew bigger and bigger until they were filled with tears by the time I walked out to the patio.
No, I didnt intentionally plan for my dress to match my phone!
The whole thing was amazing!!
My mom made all of the centerpieces
I was a little overwhelmed (in a good way) and just amazed! I never ever imagined I would have my own Mad Tea Party at Disney, but here I was! And of course being a massive Alice fan I was over the moon (and glad I had worn one of my bowed headbands!)
Then it was time to eat and there was a ton of food!! Fruit, scones, tarts, three types of sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, salad. There was food that I didnt even know we had until after the shower was over and I was walking back down the table going Oh my gosh, we had ?!?! I had a centerpiece blocking my view!
Fresh fruit
Berries and scones
Sandwiches: turkey with yogurt and cranberries on a croissant, chicken salad on Italian (I think), and heirloom tomatoes with Roquefort on multi-grain (hands down my favorite!!)
Chocolate covered strawberries
