Looks like we are going to shoot for 3 days at DLR around May 9th/Mother's day weekend. DS's birthday is May 9th and I would really like to celebrate it in the park. However, if we celebrate it another day that would be fine too.

We are also looking at 3 days in San Diego (Lego Land, Sea World and a day at the beach). I have no idea what type of crowds to expect at Lego Land or Sea World.

Obviously, the crowds will be less at DLR over the week days. We could to Thurs/Fri/Sat at DLR and get 2 MM's plus possibly get to see fireworks and EE parade. But DLR will definitely be busier than if we went M/T/W and then did San Diego on Thur/F/Sat.

So what is better?

1) MM/Fireworks/EE parade and dealing with larger crowds

or

2) 3 weekdays at DLR with less of a crowd?

You could go on a weekend and then you would know that you will see fireworks etc. if that is your plan then follow Hydroguy's advice. Here is the link:

That way you will be able to get more bang for the buck as it were. Either way you choose it will be a fabulous time spent with your family. Have fun!

You can still get MM on the Tuesday. Do San Diego first, Save the best for last! :thumbsup2 No San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal Park? Don't forget thoug that weekends=longer hours!

If it was me it would be option 1. Thursday and Friday during the day the crowds will be similar to other weekdays. That is the time to focus on rides. Friday night and Saturday all day will be busier. That is the time to focus on shows and fit in rides you want to repeat or did not get to.
