Forecast is calling for a foot of snow overnight and into tomorrow with blizzard like conditions :thumbsup2:banana::love:

This winter has been great so far. There is nothing like a good book, comfy chair, fire in the fireplace and a blizzard raging outside.

Shhhhh....I am looking forward to it, too. We are supposed to be going to a show at Mystic Lake tomorrow that I really had no interest in. Our friends from southern MN were driving up to meet us there.

I think they might stay home now and DANG they have the tickets!!!

Guess it's bowling and beer for me tomorrow night! I can wear jeans to that at least!!

Sounds like a plan, there are blizzard watches out for SW MN already so I think it best that they stay home :lmao:. What show is at Mystic? We are supposed to drive out to the Lake Minnetonka area tomorrow night for DH's work Christmas party-hopefully the roads are plowed by then (they should be ok on the highways).

So jealous!! We had a couple of inches here in NC last weekend and it was so beautiful - no problems driving even for us (we are notoriously bad drivers in snow and ice).

I would like a foot of snow tomorrow - as long as I could run to the grocery store and buy bread and milk today! I would finish all my Christmas decorating and wrap presents and drink hot chocolate all day. (Of course, I could do exactly the same thing anyway regardless of the weather but somehow doing it in the snow would be much more fun and I would be much more likely to do it and not get distracted!!)

Enjoy your blizzard!!

ugh - you can have some of ours! Seriously....4 ft plus since Sunday and another storm on the way......take ours please!

the icicles hanging off the gutters are huge and we won't be able to use the roof rake until Sunday - hopefully before the next storm gets started!!!

I love snowy days inside with a book as much as the next person, but it could come down slow and light!!!!!

no blizzards for us, please! At least not until what we have melts first!!!!! People are already looking at serious roof problems if they don't clear what they have!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Dh got milk and bread (and Reese Christmas Trees) last night.

pansmermaidzlagoon--if we get this foot that gives us close to 4' on the season so far-but most of the first one melted-we had about 4" left of that one when the next one hit. We have just the right amount of snow on our roof right now-enough to add that extra layer of insulation but not so much that we have issues. Hopefully this will be like our storm last weekend and light, fluffy snow. Our first snowstorm was like trying to shovel water it was so heavy and wet. We have some ice dams left over from that on our roof.

So jealous! Nothing but a dusting and FREEZING temps here-- still, fingers crossed for a white Christmas!!

Sounds like heaven to me!

However, I will not actually complain that it will be 75/80 here this weekend. :)

UGH, not me, I have had more than enough of this stuff, it's only Dec 10th! If only I could stay home, but my dd has 5 performances of the Grinch this weekend, so we have to go out in it no matter what.

It sound real nice and very Norman Rockwell, but as soon as I "can't" go outside, I go nuts. It runs in my family, we have to get out and go somewhere at least once a day. And I don't mean standing outside, I have to get out and about otherwise I am to live with.

I'm so jealous. A few years ago we had a nor'easter hit the New England area that dumped a ton of snow and I loved every minute of it. It started on a Saturday about 5pm and lasted through the night and into the next day. I got home from work, turned the lights off, put on some classical music and sat next to the window with a hot cup of tea and just watched it snow.

We have power outages during storms. Unfortunately we tend to get more icy rain type storms, and they knock out the power. OP, I'll graciously allow the cold weather to stay up where you are.;)

Yuck, Golfgal, can you take my portion down where you are??

Tonight... Snow develops: 4 to 7 inches by sunrise.
Lows: 18 to 22
Winds: NE 8-16 mph

Saturday... Snow: additional 3 to 7 inches, storm total 7-14 inches metro.
Highs: Temps falling
Winds: N 15-30 mph

I just saw 16+ inches possible for us tomorrow.

Keep it all with my blessing. I saw just a touch of snow flakes today and I almost curled up in a crying ball. I may never enjoy snow again;)

I did buy a beast of a snowshovel for this year so I feel somewhat prepared after I shattered the last one. Apparently constantly ramming it into the ground is not good for snow shovels:rolleyes1
