from yet another lurking newbie!

I've been looking into buying Lots on ebay for our upcoming trip. We didn't do any trading last trip but this year we all seem to be wanting to get started (me, dh dd4 and an aunt that's going with us). Anyhow, I wanted to buy a bunch to have some traders to start with.

I've emailed several of the people selling lots on ebay and none of them seem to be into pin trading themselves other than to make a buck on ebay. One seller had no idea what Sedesma pins are, others just keep stating over and over that the pins are tradeable because they fit the description on the "official pin Disney pin trading" website.

There is one seller who has been really upfront with me, and I think I'm about ready to buy some pins. Can you the 'experts' answer some of these questions....

Besides Sedesma are there any other Disney licensed pin manufacturer's who cannot be traded at the parks?

Where are Sedesma pins originally sold? Are they pins sold in the parks or via the disneystore at one time? Or are they just licensed and 'out there' somewhere?

Are all pins that come from the parks safe to buy as traders? There are lots of pins on ebay that are labeled as "from the parks".

Just want to be sure that i don't buy something that is unusable because I'm afraid that would freak out my 4 year old if someone tells her they can't trade her pins because they aren't real. She's shy and her interest in pin trading has kind of caught us off guard, we want to encourage her.

thanks for your help!

Sedesman pins are licensed Disney pins manufactured in Europe, and sold in many places throughout the Continent.

The pins are reconizable, with experience, because they are thinner than most other Disney pins and have a black outline rather than the more typical gold.

If you got www.pinpics.com, use the search feature, and enter sedesma, almost 300 pins will come up. You can use the button at the top right of the screen to switch to "view pictures only" mode, you can get a quick look at the selection. When you click on a few of the pins, and look at the larger pictures, you can see the black outline.

When you see a "lot" of pins for sale on eBay, you may be able identify a Sedesma lot by comparing the auction picture to the list you viewed in Pinpics. Most of these sellers have only Sedesma pins in their lot, so it's pretty obvious.

Also, since the Sedesma pins are from Europe, you may notice that the seller's location or eBay account is non-US. I know I've seen several auctions for Sedesma lots that are offered by foreign sellers.

As to the auctions describing "from the parks," I checked a few and they see to be actual park or cast member pins and tradable. Of course, this only applies to the five or six I happened to check tonight. Tomorrow is another day . . .

I'm not sure if I helped with all this information overload. But keep asking questions here; everyone is always willing to help.
