More encouraging news re: Rivers of Light

This show has the advantage that it was actually designed for the show space. Much of the Jungle Book show took elements that were being designed for other uses and plugged in very quickly to provide a show for the busy season, so as not to make the roll-out of AK nights a complete flop. Hence the feeling that the show wasn't quite right.

Disney promoted this show as designed from scratch for the theater. They even showed all the pieces being built. And the issue with the show was not spatial, other than the awful stages that I hope leave ......... but rather overall it was poorly produced. Now the water walls are borrowed from ROL, and they didn't work correctly, hopefully that gets fixed.

How big is the theater? Do you think people will line up for hours before and not get in? I know its all speculation, but I have FP+ all scheduled and not sure I would be able to get a FP for ROL if it opens...
I wonder if it will be half FP+ and half standby again?

With Jungle Cruise, the FP+ people got a huuuuge line and were guaranteed to be packed into their theater, while the standby people could get in an extra EE ride and then leisurely walk into the other theater and spread out.

Disney isn't going to promote a show not being designed for a space. Pieces did have to be built for this show but the barges came from DL, they are gone. The water screens did get better over time.

Any change for soft showings the 1st week of october at this point? I need some buckets of pixie dust!!!! :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Yo Haint! I'll be looking for you on 10/4. :)

We'll be at Yak & Yeti for dinner then watching the Tree Awakening, soft opening or not of RoL.

We have a park closing Tusker House dinner Friday Oct 7th!! Oh man it would be amazing to finally get to see this. We had a FP for JB but it stormed awful that night and was canceled. I've spent so many months waiting for this. ~*Rumors of Light*~

Funny thing they were supposed to open ROL in our April trip now we will be there in a week and I just won't believe it.

I need to start thinking about what parts of my plan I'd be willing to give up for this...

For what it's worth, we saw what looked like the water sprays being tested very briefly around 8pm tonight, and a couple of boats that came out for no obvious reason, though they weren't the fancy lotus floats. I wish we could have seen more, but it wasn't in the cards. We had a great time this evening regardlesss.
