Hi everyone,

My family (2 adults / 2 children - 5 and 2) are going to DLRP for the first time very soon, possibly this weekend. Initially, we were going to go for 1 night with a 1 day visit to DLP, so we were going to purchase the Francillien passport for 89 euros. I'm confused because according to this board, the Francillien can be purchased by anyone no matter where you live, however, when I called DLP, they said the Francillien is limited to residents of France. Now the person I spoke with initially thought the free children's passport was only for hotel pkges, but she got that info wrong (she put me on hold and corrected herself), but according to her was quite certain the Francillien was for local residents only. If this is true, I probably will change my arrangements to stay a little longer if I have to purchase the Fantasy... Anywho, my questions are:

1. Has anyone living outside of France purchased a Francillien passport??

2. My 2 year old turns 3 on Nov. 22. Does anyone know a way I can get the free passport for her, so she can get in after her bd? I thought about even going for our first time in Nov., but looks like the free offer is only good until Nov. 6th and she is shy of being 3 by a few weeks on that date.

If there is absolutely no way to get that free passport for her, how strict are they at the gate in regards to age? Sorry if I'm offending anyone, but $$ is an issue for me, and in California, I was able to take my younger daughter into the park as under 3 for about 1/2 year after her 3rd b-day... Has anyone done this here??

Thanks for all of help and suggestions. This website is really great!!

Hiya not sure about your questions, someone will be able to help you there , but i know when taking my DD in and she is 2 she has actually got asked for ID as they thought she was 3+, this hasnt happened on just one occasion but twice in our last 3 visits.

The only problem with the Francillien AP is that you cannot use it for day 2 & 3 of your trip after it has been activated.

Also when buying an AP I think they ask to see you passport to prove the ages of children, so you will not be able to get one for your youngest.

You can definitely buy francilien APs if you live outside France. We got one for our DS when we went at Easter and we live in UK.

We are also considering getting them for DD and myself when our dream Aps run out in summer. We probably wont have sponsored enough people to get them all renewed for free so will probably renew DHs as dream pass to get the discounts etc and then Francilien for ourselves as we've looked at teh blackout days and it fits in fine with when wed be going.

Although there is no word on the free Ap for under 7s continuing after Nov the new info on the oficial site is that the under 7 free offer is continuing after Nov until April at least.

You wont be able to get an AP for your DD before she is 3 and I wouldnt recommend trying to get her into the park free after she is 3 as if you are found out you could all be banned

Thanks for all the input so far! It sure helps to "talk" to all the Disney experts here!

Now I will plan on buying either the Francillien or Fantasy passport for myself and get the free one for my daughter this trip. Then for my husband, I'll buy a one day entry ticket this trip and wait until after my younger one turns 3 (hoping that they do indeed extend the free passport promotion) for my husband to purchase the Francillien w/free passport for the 3year old in late November.

Does this sound like the best way to do this $$ wise?? Also, how can I get a discount for the one-day entry ticket for my hubby this trip??

Thanks again for all your input!!

A Fantasy AP holder can buy a day pass with a 10% discount throughout the year. I'm guessing once you have got your official AP from the AP bureau you would have to come back out of the park to meet your DH and buy his day pass :)

When we purchase our Annual Passports at the park, from what I understand, we will be issued temporary pp to get in, then go to passport bureau to get our permanent ones? How does it work if we are intending to get the free children passport -- do we pay for the two to get in or just one?

You pay for the one passport but will be given 2 temporary passports. Just make sure you have your passports for travel with you.
You then take both these temporary APs and will get your and your child's photograph taken. This then gets printed onto your permanent AP. The free AP will show a value of €0.00 :)
