Disney weathervanes, great idea! I liked LL's idea about light fixtures, now I'm going to have to look for weathervanes! :goodvibes

I love the streetmosphere at DHS! Its my fave!

The Streemosphere characters were so much fun. We don't just stop and see them nearly enough. I really think you could spend a whole day just watching them. I do have more Citizens of Hollywood photos coming up in the next chapter, which I should be getting finished pretty soon (I hope).

Nice update :)

Aren't the streetmosphere characters fun?! We always enjoy watching them! I don't believe we've ever seen the two from your post though.

Looking forward to more :goodvibes

Thanks Dawn. They steetmosphere characters really are fantastic. We really enjoyed getting to see more of them on this trip.

After my run-in with Victoria Throckmorton and Melvin Macheezmo, I found Buzz watching some antics of some more of the Citizens of Hollywood.

daraotto1-600.jpg

On the corner of Hollywood and Sunset, director Otto Von Bonn Bahn was doing a bit of filming.

daraotto2-600.jpg

daraotto3-600.jpg

Otto’s star for the day was his ex-wife Dara Vamp.

daraotto4-600.jpg

Dara wasn’t so sure about some of Otto’s directing…

daraotto5-6002.jpg

And let him know it!

daraotto7-6002.jpg

The scene required Dara to be happy so Otto told her to think of the day they got divorced. That seemed to do the trick.

daraotto8-6002.jpg

They never did manage to get the scene shot, but their attempts were pretty entertaining.

route66-600.jpg

Goofy decided to take a break from the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for a bit, so the three of us headed down Sunset Boulevard in search of some lunch. Note the dark clouds rolling in.

pizzaplanet1-6002.jpg

We decided to have lunch at Pizza Planet.

pizzaplanet2-600.jpg

Right after we got inside, it began to pour down rain. Seems like we picked the perfect time to take a lunch break!

pizzaplanet3-600.jpg

We all ended up getting personal pizzas and got a table upstairs. It’s not too big of a secret on the DIS that Hollywood Studios doesn’t have a great assortment of quick service restaurants, but we enjoy Pizza Planet. The pizza is not the best pizza you’ll ever eat in your life, but it’s alright. The whole Toy Story theme is also a lot of fun. Got to love the giant Aliens. And in another case of Disney recycling, I believe these guys were part of a float in the Toy Story Parade that was at the Studios when the first movie came out.

After lunch, it was still raining, so we headed across the way to MuppetVision 3D.

muppetvision1-600.jpg

There are so many props in the pre-show area that after all these years, I’m still finding new things in it.

muppetvision2-600.jpg

I believe I read that these soldiers are the actual ones used in the film. I have no idea what’s up with the giant pink bomb or torpedo next to them, but part of me wants to think that Miss Piggy has something to do with it.

muppetvision3-600.jpg

A true classic- A net full of jello. If you don’t get the joke, try saying “A net full of jello” aloud.

muppetvision4-600.jpg

We were treated to a surprise appearance by Mickey Mouse, or at least a reasonable facsimile. “They’re tourists; what do they know?”

The actual movie was so much fun. I have a had time deciding which Disney 3D movie I like best, but I think after seeing Philharmagic and MuppetVision on this trip, I give the edge to MuppetVision. It just has everything- a great film, great effects, humor, music, animatronics, live characters, etc. Buzz and I had a great time, as usual, and Goofy said that it was one of his favorite things of the day.

gmr1-600.jpg

The rain seemed to be letting up a little, but it was still a fairly constant rain, so we decided to get out of it by going on the Great Movie Ride. I think a lot of other people had the same idea since the line was a bit longer than I usually see there. Block Party Bash getting cancelled right before we got there might have had something to do with it. We ended up waiting 20 or 25 minutes by the time we got on the ride.

gmr3-600.jpg

Mary Poppins’ carousel horse in the queue.

gmr2-600.jpg

Another of my favorite movies, Singin’ in the Rain.

Great Movie Ride is one of my favorite rides at the park. It’s a little on the cheesy side, but it’s fun going through all the classic movies. I asked Goofy when we got in line if he liked cowboys or gangsters better without really explaining my reasons for bringing it up. He said gangsters, so I made sure we went to the left when we got to the part where the queue separated since I head that the people on the left get the gangster hijack while those on the right got the cowboy scene. In the end, it didn’t matter too much since they were apparently weren’t running the cowboy scene, and we would have gotten the gangster scene no matter what we did.

After the Great Movie Ride, we headed back towards Sunset Boulevard so Goofy could begin another marathon of rides on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and I was about to get my first experience of trying the Single Riders line.

Next chapter: The end of the trip and a few of all of our favorites.

After the Great Movie Ride, we headed over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Since Goofy had a lot of success earlier in the day using the Single Riders line, we went ahead and got in it. In all my times at Disney, this was my first time ever using a Single Rider line on any attraction. The prospect of riding an attraction with a total stranger never seemed appealing, so I always stuck with Fastpass and Standby. Still, the prospect of a short wait sounded good, so I give it a try.

rrcagain-600.jpg

We quickly made our way through the queue and into the “recording studio” with Aerosmith in no time. After that, we couldn’t have waited any more than 5 minutes before getting on the ride itself. Of course, we didn’t get to sit together, but Goofy and I got to be in the same limo. In the end, I still had a good time on the ride even if I wasn’t sitting next to anyone I knew. I’m sure I’ll be using the Single Rider line again sometime to avoid the lines. Once we got off, Goofy was ready to get in line again, but I decided to call it quits and told Goofy I’d see him later. I was hoping to catch one of the random evening character sets they sometimes have at the Animation Building, so I started to head back toward that part of the park.

hollywoodshops1-600.jpg

By now, there was a little time left before I figured that the character sets would start, so I spent a little time just looking through the shops on Hollywood Boulevard and trying to avoid the still-drizzling rain. In one of the shops, I “spotted” these Dalmatians perched over the heads of most guests.

hollywoodshops2-600.jpg

Probably my favorite shop in Hollywood Studios is Sid Cahuenga’s One-of-a-Kind. It’s so much fun to check out all the old movie memorabilia. Bert’s original “Jolly Holiday” jacket from Mary Poppins is still for sale for anyone interested, as long as you have $65,000 on you. I’m still not quite sure why Michael’s jacket is on display in Planet Hollywood while Bert’s is for sale. Some other interesting props I found were some prop history essays from the Broadway musical Wicked. For those of you familiar with the show, they are the essays that Galinda, Elphaba and the rest of the Shiz students receive back from Dr. Dillamond near the beginning of Act 1, and they were really interesting to actually read. When asked to contrast OZ before and after the Wizard took power, Galinda seemed to miss the whole point and wrote how she didn’t notice any differences except in fashion. I’m sure that this won’t make sense to anyone who is unfamiliar with Wicked, but I really thought that they were fascinating.

Next, I headed back to the Magic of Disney Animation for a third time in search of even more characters. Along with Mickey, Lotso and the Incredibles, a few random characters were out as well- Mulan, Snow White and some of the Playhouse Disney characters. The Playhouse crew had no line at all and since I had never met any of them before, I decided to see them first.

modaevening1-600.jpg

First was Handy Manny.

modaevening2-600.jpg

modaevening3-600.jpg

Nearby, a couple of the Little Einsteins, Leo and Annie, were hanging out.

littleeinsteinsauto-6002.jpg

The last new autographs of the trip.

modaevening4-600.jpg

Mulan appearing at the Animation Building seemed fitting since back when it was a fully functional animation studio, most of Mulan was animated there. After meeting Mulan, the CMs announced that in 5 minutes they would be switching out characters. I was really hoping that some of the more hard-to-find characters that I heard pop up sometimes at the Animation Building like the Villains would show up, but it turned out to be Belle, Pocahontas and Mary Poppins.

modaevening5-6002.jpg

Since Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie, I thought it was fitting that Belle would be the last character meet-and-greet of the trip.

modaevening6-600.jpg

After meeting Belle, I met back up with Buzz and Goofy. Buzz, it turns out, went from the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster back to Toy Story Mania. When he got in line, the posted wait time was about an hour, but he said he didn’t wait any more than 30 or, at most, 45 minutes. According to Buzz, the wait time really gave him more of a chance to watch more of Mr. Potato Head’s interactive Schick. As for the ride itself, Buzz said he did slightly better than he did in the morning, and still had a lot of fun. Goofy continued his marathon of riding the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and had just taken a break from it to give the Tower of Terror another try. I’m still not sure how many times exactly Goofy rode the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and I’m not sure he is either. I’m guessing more than 10 but less than 20. After the three of us met up again, he headed off for one last ride on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, while Buzz and I were feeling a bit more like making the Tower of Terror our last ride of the trip.

totagain1-600.jpg

The wait was extremely shot- about 10 or so minutes- so we were into the library and then onto the ride so quickly I barely had a chance to get any photos along the way.

totagain2-600.jpg

One last ride on my favorite Disney ride seemed like the perfect way to end both the day and the trip. As we were heading back to Sunset Boulevard, Goofy was getting off the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and we met in the middle. How’s that for timing. It was about time the tree of us started getting ready to leave, so left the park and took one last bus ride back to the Coronado.

coronadolast-600.jpg

Once we got there, we managed to get the last of our bags from Bell Services, finish loading up the car and began driving home.

Next chapter: End-of-trip reflections

Aww I'm sorry to see your vacation coming to a close! But I hope we get to hear about Universal and hopefully you have that Christmas trip coming soon! :goodvibes

Nice update! I always :lovestruc all your pictures! :thumbsup2

Wow! I think I would get sick riding RnR over and over. LOL! I did the single rider line the one and only time I've had a chance to ride it though, and it did mover REALLY fast. I love all your character pictures.

Thanks Dawn. I'll most likely be starting some sort of mini-TR for Universal here next week once I get the June wrap-all posted. As for December, we're still trying to nail down some dates. I'm really hoping we'll get that done soon. Buzz and I are still looking into the prospect of doing just a day trip sometime this month, so it's looking like we might be getting a Disney day in before Christmas too.

Wow! I think I would get sick riding RnR over and over. LOL! I did the single rider line the one and only time I've had a chance to ride it though, and it did mover REALLY fast. I love all your character pictures.

I'm not one to ride the same ride over and over either, so I'm always a little amazed at people who can. I think that I would get bored doing it as many times in a row as Goofy did, but he seemed to have a blast doing it.

I'm glad you liked all the character pictures. It was really a great trip for character meet-and-greets, I think.

You know we've used single riders a lot and it's actually sort of funny because more often than not we'll end up in the same row or atleast same ride vehicle. We've never been bothered by riding with some random person...in fact I kind of like riding with strangers just to see/hear their reactions. hehe

You sure met a lot of characters at the Animation Academy!

I'm sure that we'll be using Single Riders a lot in the future. Seems like a great way to have a short wait without having to tie up a Fastpass for an attraction.

I feel like I spent a good portion of the day meeting charaters at Animation- first Lotso in the morning, the Incredibles in the afternoon and then all these in the evening. Usually I don't seem to have much luck finding random characters at those evening sets, but I sure seemed to this time, even if they were all Princesses and not any of the Villains or rare characters I thought might be there.

Well, after five months of working on this report, we have finally reached the end of our “Unconventional” June trip. To wrap up this portion of the report, here’s a look back at the trip and some of the information I thought would be most helpful to anyone planning a trip. For those of you who have been reading the whole trip report, I hope that you enjoy reading this look back at the trip as I did writing it. For those who don’t want to read a long trip report and just want some quick takes on the weather, crowds, dining and more, hopefully this will be helpful for you.

Weather:
unconventional-weather.jpg

The weather was pretty typical for summer. It was mostly sunny and warm with a few hours of thunderstorms every day. It was almost unbearably hot the morning of the first day, but thankfully those afternoon storms helped cool things down to a more reasonable temperature for the rest of the trip. Unfortunately, that same rain did scuttle a few of our plans including seeing the Main Street Electrical Parade and the Summer Nightastic Fireworks, but all in all the weather was not too bad as long as you stayed hydrated, took advantage of indoor, air-conditioned attractions and restaurants and have a poncho on hand.

Crowds and Wait Times:
unconventional-crowds.jpg

This was my first time going to Walt Disney World in June, and I was expecting the huge crowds that I have come to expect from July or early August, but the crowds really weren’t too bad. The parks were very manageable, and I was shocked on how many times we had a Disney bus all to ourselves (something I can’t ever remember happening before).

Wait times were very reasonable and not too many ever exceeded 45 minute. For those that did (Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, Toy Story Mania, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster), getting there at rope drop and utilizing Fastpass or the Single Riders Line really helped. The longest wait at either Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios turned out to be Buzz’s last afternoon ride on Toy Story Mania which was about 45 minutes. After that, the next longest lines we waited through were only around 20 or 30 minutes- The Great Movie Ride, the Astro Orbiter and a few of the character meet-and-greets (The Judge's Tent in Toontown and the Princess and the Frog Meet-and-Greet in Liberty Square). Everything else was less than 20 minutes including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which was practically a walk-on in the middle of the afternoon and Tower of Terror which had waits of 5 - 10 minutes pretty much all day.

Coronado Springs Resort:
unconventional-resort.jpg

We were all impressed with the Coronado. It was really a beautiful resort, and all of the Cast Members that we encountered were friendly and helpful. I’d seen some reviews where people complained it always full of rowdy conventioneers and how it was not as “family friendly” as other Disney resorts, but I hadn’t seen that on any of my past trips here, and I certainly didn’t see it this time either. Perhaps it really depends on what kind of convention is going on. :confused3 If anything, the large amount of conventioneers staying at the resort for seminars instead of going to the parks might have been one of the reasons the buses always seemed to range from being half-full to empty. I will say that it does at times feel like just a nice, Southwest-inspired convention hotel instead of a fully-themed immersive Disney resort (the lounge areas and guestrooms come to mind), but even those areas are still very pleasant and well decorated, and there are many more areas that I thought really were fantastically themed in the best Disney tradition.

Our room was located in the Ranchos section which was pretty far in the back of the resort. It was a bit of a walk to the lobby and restaurants, but was fine for us. We also had a bus stop right in front of our building which was very convenient. The Coronado is a fairly sprawling resort, so if you don’t like having to walk very far to get from the lobby to your room, you might want to either request a room in one of the closer buildings in the Casitas or Cabanas or make use of the internal bus system. If you don’t mind the walk, the area around the Ranchos is really beautiful and close to both the Dig Site Pool and a quiet pool (neither of which we made it to on this trip, but maybe next time we will).

Attraction Highlights:
unconventional-attractions.jpg

At the Magic Kingdom, this was Buzz and my first time getting to see the (now-defunct) Honorary Volunteer Cavalcade with the Muppets. We both thought that it was a lot of fun, and it was great to see Kermit and Piggy in true Muppet form included. Hopefully, they’ll reappear somewhere else in the parks sometime soon. This was also our first time getting to ride Space Mountain after its year-long refurbishment. The queue really does look great now, but I’m still not a big fan of the ride itself. I’d love to experience it again sometime though now that they’ve added some music to it though. Also vaguely new for us was the Prince Charming Regal Carousel which had been changed in name only since we went last. Whether you like the new name or not (and, for the record, I’m still undecided), it really changes nothing about the ride itself.

Since it was Goofy’s first time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, everything was new to him. Being the thrill-seeker, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was undoubtedly his favorite attraction of the day, but he said he really enjoyed MuppetVision 3D, the Tower of Terror and The Great Movie Ride as well.

Along with these new experiences, Buzz and I got to revisit a number of old favorites and a few attractions that we hadn’t been on in years- the Magic Carpets of Aladdin at Magic Kingdom and the Backlot Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Both were fun little diversions that we enjoyed revisiting, but I don’t see either as attractions that we’ll come back to again and again. Buzz also went on the Atstro Orbiter for the first time in a number of years and said that the views were great, but he thought that even a 20 minutes wait was pretty tedious.

Dining:
unconventional-restaurant.jpg

My only full-service meal of the trip was dinner at Planet Hollywood. I came in with pretty low expectations, but I actually really enjoyed my meal there. The food we had was pretty comparable to what you might find at an Applebee’s of Chili’s but with inflated prices. However, when you consider that the price of your meal also allows you to explore what’s essentially a museum of some really interesting Hollywood memorabilia, spending an extra few bucks on the meal may not feel so bad. If you’re looking for something exotic or gourmet, this isn’t the place for you, but if you want a burger or cheesesteak sandwich and a fun night of checking out all the movie props and costumes, I’d recommend it.

Buzz and I tried a few counter service restaurants this time around that we hadn’t before. My favorite was Casey’s Corner at the Magic Kingdom. The atmosphere was charming and the corn dog nuggets were really tasty. I only wish it had more indoor seating. Also at the Magic Kingdom, we tried Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. The food we had was fairly typical Disney food court fare. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and enjoyed it. We also had fun watching Sonny Eclipse perform as we ate. At the Coronado, we tried Café Rix, a small counter service restaurant that was new since the last time that Buzz and I had stayed at the Coronado. The menu was sandwiches and pizza and it was quick and convenient and a nice alternative to the Coronado’s Pepper Market. Not new to any of us (besides Goofy, of course) was Pizza Planet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s not gourmet, but it’s some of the better fast food pizza in the Disney parks and the atmosphere is fun.

While not necessarily a meal, I can’t go through talking about all of my dining experiences without mentioning my first Dole Whip Float from Adventureland’s Aloha Isle. I will say that if I ever go with getting the float again instead of just the regular Dole Whip, I think I’ll go with the vanilla whip. I love pineapple, but the pineapple whip and pineapple juice was almost too much for me.

Characters:
unconventional-characters2.jpg

This was really a great trip for character meet-and-greets. I thought that both parks had a good amount of characters out (over two days, I managed to get photos of 27 different characters and probably passed by just as many) and a great assortment of different characters including some that were new and others that I typically don’t see in the parks very often.

New to me on this trip were Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen at their gazebo in Liberty Square, Lotso in his Sunnyside-inspired location at the Magic of Disney Animation, Pirate Goofy outside the Pirates of the Caribbean and Handy Manny and a couple of the Little Einsteins also at the Magic of Disney Animation. Other characters that were making appearances that I would consider as more usual to find include Piglet at the Hat in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Mr. Penguin and Bert joining Mary Poppins in Fantasyland and Prince Eric wih Ariel (in human form instead of mermaid) in Adventureland. Unfortunately, now that summer is over, I’ve heard that Mr. Penguin, Bert and Prince Eric aren’t coming out as much (if at all), but typically a few extra characters like them do pop up at the Magic Kingdom from about May through September, so they or some other characters may be back out come May. All the characters were a lot of fun to meet and photograph, but I think my favorites interactions of the trip were with the Mary Poppins crew in Fantasyland who really were fantastic. Along with many of the characters listed above, Cinderella’s Stepfamily in Fantasyland and Mr. Incredible and Frozone at the Animation building were also very memorable.

Summer Nightastic:
unconventional-summernightastic.jpg

Even though the Elelectrical Parade and Nightastic fireworks got rained during our trip, we did still manage to catch a few of the special Summer Nightastic additions to the parks. The biggest was probably the special additions and drop sequence to the Tower of Terror. It had some pretty cool effects that I wouldn’t mind seeing incorporated into the ride permanently, but I really wasn’t that impressed with the star field replacing what’s usually in the 5th dimension room. The only other Nightastic event we got to see was Club 626 Dance Party in Tomorrowland. It was pretty cute, and it was neat getting to see all the characters in their Tomorrowland gear. Seems like a lot of fun for kids, but honestly, everyone seemed to get a kick out of watching Goofy, Stitch and friends try to one-up each other on the dance floor. As for the Electrical Parade, I’m still hoping that it stays at the Magic Kingdom long enough to where we’ll be able to have another chance to see it again.

Well, I think that pretty much wraps things up. Hope you enjoyed the report. It looks like there will be more to report in the future. Buzz and are planning on heading back to Disney sometime in the next few weeks for a day trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and we’re still trying to see if we can manage a family vacation in December. I’ve also got a mini-Trip Report for Buzz and my day at Universal Studios coming up, so there will hopefully be plenty of trips to report even though this trip is completed. I’ll have more on those soon.

Hi Meeko!

All caught up now, sounds like you had a great couple of days! Shame about the weather at times, but you still managed to do a lot!

Sounds like Goofy had a fun first time as well! The character photos were great too, and although I looked we didn't see any Mary Poppins characters about in Fantasyland in October.

Looking forward to the Universal report!

Di x

Another amazing trip! So glad you guys had such a great last day!!!!

Loved your reflections!!

Can't wait for your next trip!

Hey Di!

It really was a great little trip. All in all, we've had far worse weather before, so missing a couple things along the way wasn't too bad.

Goofy had a blast which I was so happy about. On the way back from Disney he even said something about maybe doing this again sometime next year, so who know. We may all be back sometime.

Sorry to hear about missing the Mary Poppins characters in Fantasyland. I hear that Bert is no longer out on any sort of regular basis and Mr. Penguin only comes out on random occasions there, so it would likely have been just Mary if anyone was out. It's too bad- Bert and Mr. Penguin really were a lot of fun.

Another amazing trip! So glad you guys had such a great last day!!!!

Thanks Jen. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for thay next trip report. :rolleyes1

Great wrap-up! Looking forward to hearing about Universal and your next Disney trips. :thumbsup2

I've never used the single rider line either. I might have to try it out next time!

Loved reading your report Meeko. I hope to read another TR of yours in the future! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I thought that the single rider line really worked for us. I can see us using it in the future.

Glad you enjoyed the report. I have a feeling they'll be more to report very soon, so stay tuned. :teeth:

Now that the old trip report is over, let the new pre-trip begin! We’re still trying to see if we can all manage to get together in December for a family vacation, but until everything there gets ironed out, Buzz and I are planning a quick day trip to Disney sometime this month to use the third day on our tickets from June that we had been saving for the Food and Wine Festival trip that unfortunately fell through. For our park, we’ve decided on…

treeoflife-600.jpg

Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We’ve skipped it on our last three trips, so we’re excited to be able to go back.

This will actually be Buzz and my first time going to the parks and not staying at least one night over there since we were kids. After Mom and Dad discovered how great it is to be able to stay overnight at a resort instead of having to drive back home afterwards, we never did that again, and when Buzz and I started taking trips without them, the tradition just stuck. However, after our recent day trip to Universal Studios (which you will be hearing more about soon), we realized that a Disney day trip isn’t outside the realm of possibility for us.

Since it’s just one day, there isn’t a whole lot of planning to be done, but we have been thinking about what attractions and entertainment we definitely don’t want to miss while we’re there. Kilimanjaro Safaris, Pangani Forest, and Maharajah Jungle Trek are always must-sees for us, so we’ll be sure to see them. We skipped Finding Nemo The Musical (one of my favorites) and Dinosaur on our last trip, so we definitely don’t want to miss it this time around. Finally, It looks like the parade has already changed over to the Jingle Jungle Parade, which we have never seen, so we’ll try our best to make sure and see it.

As far as other priorities, I’ll be on the lookout for some characters. This will be my first time at the Animal Kingdom since Thumper and Miss Bunny started appearing at Camp Minnie-Mickey, so I really hope to find them. I’ll also be on the lookout for Jiminy Cricket at Rafiki’s Planet Watch and Mickey Mouse in Camp Minnie-Mickey. Surprisingly enough, the Animal Kingdom is the only park where I’ve never met Mickey. One thing that won’t be as much of a priority for us this time around will be dining. We’ve decided to skip ADRs and leisurely meals again in lieu of something quick so we can focus more on attractions and such.

Of course, no trip to Disney would be complete for us without a music playlist to set the mood for us on the way there. I think that the selection is sufficiently “Animal Kingdom”-ish. Here’s a look at what we’ll be listening to:

  • Circle of Life (from The Lion King)
  • Oasis Garden Theme (Oasis area music/ WDW Forever)
  • I Wanna Be Like You (Smash Mouth version)
  • Up with Titles (instrumental from UP)
  • In the Big Blue World (from "Finding Nemo the Musical" cast recording)
  • Grasslands Chant (from The Lion King Broadway cast recording)
  • Say “Bird” (instrumental from Bambi)
  • Trashin’ the Camp (from Tarzan)
  • I Already Have a Husband (Discovery Island area music/ Balafon Marimba Enselble)
  • Colors of the Wind (from "Pocahontas and her Forest Friends" and "Sprit of Pocahontas" stage shows/ WDW Forever)
  • Perry the Platypus (from Phineas and Ferb)
  • The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Pizzafari area music/ WDW Forever)
  • It’s the End of the World As We Know It (Dinoland USA area music/ REM)
  • The Flik Machine (instrumental from A Bug’s Life)
  • Hakuna Matata (Baha Men version)
  • Minnie’s Yoo-Hoo (Kerry Butler’s Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust album)
  • The Lioness Hunt (from The Lion King Broadway cast recording)
  • The Bare Necessities (from The Jungle Book)
  • Timon’s Traveling Theme (instrumental from The Lion King 1 1/2)
  • Just Keep Swimming (from "Finding Nemo the Musical" cast recording)
  • Tree of Life Theme (Animal Kingdom area music/ WDW Official Album)
  • One By One (The Lion King Broadway cast recording)
  • Suite of Dream- Adventure (Magic in the Streets album)

For those of you who may be wondering, WDW Forever was a make-your-own CD kiosk that they use to have at various places at Disney World that enabled you to create CDs with selected park music. I’m glad we got to get a couple of these before they disappeared because the songs on there are great for these playlists, but I really wish they were still out. I would love to get more of this park music.

To start out this portion of the report, I thought that I’d do a mini-trip report about Buzz and my aforementioned day trip to Universal Studios since it was sort of a precursor to us trying to do a Disney day trip. Whether or not I’ll get around to posting that before or after we actually head to the Animal Kingdom (since we’re not tied down to any reservations or ADRs, we’re pretty much just going to go when we can) is another story. Either way, there should be some new theme park adventures from Buzz and I appearing here in the future.

I cannot wait to see what amazing pictures you take at Animal Kingdom! :thumbsup2

Love the play list :)
