OK, I have to get a few things off of my chest. First things first. To quote a deer friend, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". The kids went back to school today. Finally. No more guitar hero, no more fighting over who looked funny at who, no more neighbor kids, no more going through a case of soda in one day, no more three Digeorno Pizza days, no more fistfulls o' fudge, no more Christmas movie marathons, no more Christmas cookies. YEEEEESSSS. Our lights are down, our tree is down. Christmas, which began the day after Thanksgiving, is finally over. Don't get me wrong, I love the holiday, I love the reason for the season, I love Christmas music and shows and my family. I'm just relieved it is finally, completely and irrevocably -- OVER. (man, that felt good)
I am now looking forward to kid's basketball and volleyball season hitting full stride. Our schedule is NUTS. I love every minute of it. Remind me that I posted this when I post an "It's finally over" post in July.
It is cold here. It is supposed to be 50 degrees on Friday. Warm enough to golf? We'll see. I'm sorry for all of you dealing with sick kids. Not sorry enough to wish that mine were still here and that your's were at school. But, sorry just the same. Mommy P, congratulations. I am really happy for you. The homily on New Year's Day mass was about the joy Mary must have experienced looking at her newborn and wondering what her child's destiny would be. I specifically recall the same moment with each of mine. Unfortunately, I now am much closer to the future and it doesn't seem so bright with them. Ha.
When does Lil G return? I'm quite positive he is excited about the Buckeyes. I sure hope they win. And not ONLY because I don't want Lil G to have to come up with a new scoring system. And, I miss his posts.
Ok, enough complaining. Happy New Year everyone. I still have not come up with a New Year's resolution. I am resolutionless. Ooops, almost forgot. Sandy I like the avatar in you signature. Mind if I steal it?
