Oh, I usually just do the most pressing things when they reach the crucial point, PJ :rotfl2:

It's kind of nice not having kid responsibilities any more ;)

Marita, that sounds like a nice party! We only have a 25-year luncheon where I work. But I got a cool glass plaque thing. I think they just give a clock or another plaque at 30 years. I would definitely be going for the steak and lobster.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!!!

Nab, my son is just doing some part time work right now. He will not hear anything from the airforce till end of November, so he is in limbo right now, trying to figure out what to do with his life. And applying for some jobs that pay more than $8/hour because even if he gets accepted, he would not go until probably March or June.

Okay, you like ALWAYS have your homework done. How is this accomplished? I'm so jealous.

1. I only have two classes
2. I don't always get it done - when I was in disney world, I got 2 zeros! :scared1: but I'll still have an A. cuz I'm good.

Faker kitty is fine today. I'm glad we didn't fork out $100's of dollars to see the vet.:lmao:

Celery -- what are you needlepointing, a pillow, picture?

1. :rotfl2: about faker kitty. I was walking the dogs earlier and there was dew - little amber was lifting her poor little dainty paws and it made me think of faker kitty. you should nickname him psych or something.

2. it's just a little butterfly thingie. I'll probably frame it. it's the one I started in like march or april for my mom's birthday in may - I figure since I'm not allowed to buy her anything for christmas (cuz we spent like 500 or 600 bucks on her for the vacation), I should finish it for her.

Celery, what are doing needlepointing, you should be working on your trip report!!!!!!!!!!

I just dont know yet what my son's work situation will be then.

1. see above
2. I'll work on the trip report sometime this week. I don't like typing it at home cuz it's not all comfy and stuff.
3. If your son can't make it, I'll go!

Moo-- did you have a Mickey dome? I just remember stopping Nicholas from having his second bowl of ice cream and getting picture of the characters.

1. I remember that too!
2. I didn't have any of the desserts really that night - they weren't good enough to justify the carbs for me . but I did have gummy bears later in the park!
3. I think I was too stressed to enjoy my time with everyone. maybe next time I won't have my mom and a kid and other people to worry about and I can calm down.

babynurse - where be you? I wanted to tell you last night that I watched nip/tuck.
it was the crazy one in the future -
now you have to keep in mind that I hadn't watched a full episode since the first season until last night.
I watched bits and pieces of the crazy killer thing, but not a lot.
so it was really funny that I could get right into this future episode and follow along.
but anyway. I started watching a few minutes of the one right after it, but it got to be too late -
but anyway - what the heck is up with brooke shield's crazy character? and is james the black chick's husband or what?
and is christian fer real - does he really love her?

ok.
now back to your regularly scheduled drama.
I think I need to start dvr'ing nip/tuck.

hi twinkie!

hi everyone else!

Oh no! I have to wreck my straight 5's. Thanks Moo, for celebrating!

Happy Sunday, everyone! My children woke up, bundled up, and made a somewhat pitiful snowman smack dab in the middle of the front lawn. They used almost all the snow still "sticking" (means not melted) and placed a hat and gloves on him and made a pebble smile and eyes. Shoot, they worked on him for a while...and were so sad that he was very melted after church with his pebble face drooped mostly off.

I reminded him the song:

Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman
Once there was a snowman tall, tall, tall...

In the sun he melted, melted, melted,
In the sun he melted small, small, small.

And suggested they drown their sorrows in a rivoting video game (to give me time for a teeny nap ;) )

Now I have to go check on Misty's kitty and make sure her house is not flooded or burned down. AND, get me a diet Pepsi  .

Yay! Desperate Housewives! Thanks for reminding me Marita! I'm really looking forward to vegging!

MOOO HOOOTY to your 5,555, Uma.
I am slightly late with this, but only by 1. (does that count?)

Never did nap today, dang. I tried for 10 minutes, but got up again.

Uma, snow sounds great, my kids don't even know snow. But I remember it's COLD!!!!!! And my nose glows like Rudolph's when it's cold out (and I have a big nose!) Not something I am fond of (neither the big nor the big red glowing part)

I had a dream last night about MommyP's big enough for an adult baby blanket. I dreamt that knitfreak came to show me how it should be done, and her stitches were about 1/2 the size of mine. Oh well, it is what it is now.

Can't wait to hear how knitfreaks first real live date with her online dating site friend went on Friday. I invited the gang out for ice cream at Beaches and Cream at 2 tomorrow on my dime. (Did I mention the boss is on vacation all week :rolleyes1 )

SNOW?!?! Yikes Utah.

I leave summer kickin' and screamin'. They have to drag me into autumn, and I put up a goog fight, let me tell ya. It was 80's today. Woo Hoo!!!

Cel: nip/tuck...dvr it:thumbsup2

 gang. Sup?:cool2:

Desperate Housewives is sup, BBN! Otherwise, read above!

Addendum: Wait, that sounded very rude, sorry, was not meant that way!

Glad you had good weather, BBN. It rained here most of the day.

yw, Wendy!

I just watched the season opener of Desperate Housewives on-line last night. I really need to get caught up.

3. I think I was too stressed to enjoy my time with everyone. maybe next time I won't have my mom and a kid and other people to worry about and I can calm down.
Cel, I think most of us had a little bit of that going on . . . but not nearly as much as you and Tammy

Who is up for going solo next time?!

Celery: James was a character from the fourth season of the hit FX television series, Nip/Tuck. She was played by Jacqueline Bisset.

She first appears in the second episode of the fourth season, when she meets Michelle Landau in the basement of the McNamara/Troy Parking Garage. She then engages Michelle with a kiss. McNamara/Troy anesthesiologist Liz Cruz sees the meeting, and becomes convinced that Michelle is a lesbian. Eventually Michelle comes close to firing Liz to hide evidence of this meeting.

In fact James is blackmailing Michelle with the information that she used to be a call girl. James was her pimp or Madame.

It's eventually discovered that James is a leader of an organ thieving ring who apparently are after people's kidneys.

I wikipidie'd it cuz it seemed easier to 'splain

Michele aka the "black chick" was married to Larry Hagman's character, and yes Christian really did care for her.

Got it?

BBN, I apologized above for sounding so rude, was not meant to be that at all.

Last edited by Minnie_Moo : Today at 08:35 PM. Reason: I had a nice nap this afternoon. Eat some Beaches and Cream for me, Marita!

I will, Moo! Unless there is an emergency firedrill happening (chances are 85%, since I have plans for a leisurely ice cream social)

Congrats Marita, what a neat event! You guys deserve it!
:thumbsup2

Moovers, I need an intervention. I have a new obssession.

I MUST get a Thomas Kincaid Cinderella Castle LE 500 pin.
:cloud9:
Help!!! I am sick. Seriously. Is there a 12-step program for LE pins?
:confused3

Steph, sorry, I have no clue what you are talking about :rotfl2:

Crack me up Marita.

Thomas Kinkade was commissioned to do a portrait of Cinderella's castle. There was an event and everything for it. Anyway, you could Limited Edition signed copies of the portrait at the event... and there is a Limited Edition of 500 pins to commemorate the event.

Since i cannot afford a print, I WANT one of the pins instead. Anyway, since there are only 500 of them made, if I even found one, the price is going to be hefty. But I really, really want one and I have a weakness for Limited Edition Disney pins in general. This one is just soooooo me. So, I am obssession about getting one.

It's a sickness. Disney pin trading LE pin sickness.

Between football, updating the trippie, and getting a few things done around here the day has disappeared.
Backstage Gal-Lobster AND steak? they could get me dressed up for that.
Uma-5555 and you joined about when I did. Congrats, but how can you post that many? You're a machine, woman.
BNCG asked anybody watching football? didn't think so. Not with game seven on.

Well, I'd offer to help if I had a clue, but I don't, so I am afraid you are on your own, Steph. Only pins I can get are the run of the mill trading variety, and I dont even get those, because I do not work with guests.

DTD, I'd invite you to be my dinner date if my son can't make it. I think my DH might even be OK with it, but I am afraid my DD would have a fit, LOL.

SO, no soup, steak and lobster for you, sorry!

I just finished watching Housewives too. I am confused I thought Danielle lost the baby :confused3 I must have missed something.

Steph-- sounds like a nice pin. We didn't do much pin trading last time because they ran out of pins they wanted to trade and I wasn't paying $16. for a new set that they probably would have traded in seconds and want more.

Moo -- I would never get away with leaving the kids at home. Best I could do is bringing hubby and letting them go off while I visited. And that won't be happening to soon either.

Marita -- do you get anything at this party or did you say you got your statue already , can't remember.

Thanks for the offer, Marita. I doubt anyone can get their hands on them at this point. I will just have to wait and see if any surface on Ebay and see if I can manage to NOT get outbid. Unfortunately for me, there is a limit as to how much I will pay, so that is unlikely to happen. I will just have to be satisfied that I tried to get one... LOL
