We went and got pumpkins today too. It is a mixed bag of weather today. But really getting windy now.

Celery-- glad to here Tammy is feeling better.

Donald -- that is just to early. Glad you went back to bed. I loved the Youtube video's too. Had to check out he one that said Ontario sucks. Too funny. I know all the places they mentioned.

Nicholas must have got what Hannah had that one night because he was sick last night fine today. I think he is getting a cold too. At least I hope that is what it is. Wouldn't want an allergy to the cat to show up....

Buddy is walking and flexing those claws again...:yay: But now he is limping on the other paw now since we came home. :confused3

Twinkie -- so jealous of your date night. I have to wait to Nov/Dec for the company Christmas party.

Lil'g -- love the family photos. You look like a real trouble maker...:lmao:

P.J. -- I love Halloween and seeing all the kids but I myself do not dress up. I do wear a witch's hat though when I give out candy.

yeah and forgot what foot hurt....:lmao:

I was going to come on but ended up going to bed early. Should have gone to bed even earlier because everyone is grumpy today and tired today.

Hi all. I'm still living. I'm sore as all get out. My ear feels numb. I researched "what to expect after having a mastoidectomy" and learned that I could feel numbness in my ear for months. Wow. I hope not. Or at least if I do, I hope it's got none of the sharp pain with it. My lower jaw on my right side hurts. I just hope this surgery does what it is supposed to...because right now it just hurts like the dickens.

Later all!

Today must have been the day to go to the pumpkin farm!! My friend is a nanny for 2 little girls so she asked me to help her take them to get pumpkins. This may have something to do with why I was riding tractors today and the cowgirl is singing about sexy tractors...elsewhere. The girls were too cute, it was a lot of fun! Hope everyone had a nice Saturday. :)

I can't sleep!

Since there was NOTHING on Tv tonight but sports (thus nothing ;) ) I rented some flicks.
1. Surf's Up - for the kids to watch tomorrow
2. Blades of Glory- some crude humor, which I usually like. Pretty dumb though.
3. Because I Said So- YAY! Chick Flick-o-Rama....LooOOoved it! Diane Keaton's hair is great!

Today I organized TOYS....which is a pandora's box. See, you can only do this when Norah is napping or else she'll suddenly LOVE the toys in the Donate or Toss piles.... So in record time I thinned out the hordes of Mc Toys and "baby" toys, etc.

Also went to Costco for boys Guess Jeans for $17-something! Woo Hoo! They look FIERCE on my boys :cool2: Plus I became full from the "taster ladies"...Uh, no I didn't eat old ladies. The little samples on toothpicks, duh.
LOVE all the Christmas stuff Costco has. Sheesh!

OHHHH! And! It's Snowing right now!!!! :yay: So sparkly and smooth, the first snow

Now, I need to catch up with this thread! You HOtT's are chatty...and I LOVE to read yous!

Tammy! Here's the bright side...(hee hee) It's the easiest diet in the world!!!! :thumbsup2 LOL! Hope you're feeling better!!!

Spongie is in Vegas right now! I'm going to go check on her kitty tomorrow. I have to stop myself from calling her every half hour to ask what she's doing.

Peej- a "punkin" farm! How fun! I love to go to those and take pictures of my kids being all adorable..then buy pumpkins at Walmart 2 for $3.00  (such white trash!)

Nab- I think Buddy is faking it, fur reals.

Twinkie- I got nothing, just wanted to say Hey!. :p

Moo- on the outskirts of POP, did you see any of those HUGE birds? The ones that are sort of like on Jurrasic Park- Pteranadons? I did not see them but I heard they're on the lake side. Yipes!

Lil G- How old is you dd now? Oh my goodness she's lovely! Your family is awsome!!!!!!Thank you for showing us!

:flower3: ..keep hanging in there , tammy.....you will do it! :thumbsup2

...we are what we..are...but the routes...we take...can make all the
differnce.

..noticed?..how disney sneak in? ...[ my baby pic?...besides me, leaning
forward...that's my bro lving in tucson. in the air force, he was on
the titian II missle crew.....:rolleyes1 , you know / the ones pointed at
the old soviet nation....oh my, his old 8mm moivies...& the goofy guys,
would make one....:scared: . disney? ohhhhh...see? lok closely....he's
wearing....a "davey crockett 's shirt....[ ps , he does alot stuff for
senator mcclain...:thumbsup2 ]

oh, the baby "behind bars"..pic, always makes me....:lmao: ,* cos we
had ..real trouble...keeping him ..in the crib.....[ now, we can
...but there were some very serious incidents..of him getting lose , &
once....almost burend our house down]

..but the reason ..for my reflections? he,he, he, iiii cameeee across my
old high school "year book"...wow...before..the invention of...no, no

....however, the area i grew up in...let' me put it this way...i knew,
i was never going live there. what a "rough" place....when i was little,
some rough necks..tried to steal..my bike...with me on it! but, in all
that roudness...the people who put together...our yearbook, made
some really intersting observations.....,

i like to share....to see what you think.....here's what was written on
the last page....[author unknow/or not listed....

" new prespective"..one thing is so important; we must see with new
eyes.
we must not insulate ourselves to avoid critcism, awareness, pain, or shroud
ourselves in a holy reverence fo the past.we must not blind ourselves with
comfortable familarity. familarity breeds comtempt. one thing is so important
;we must see with new eyes.

ok, re~ thinking....those days....while i was in this class...i was never
sought ...for input. the teachers...were cruel & some took advantage of
the students. when i read those words....i vaguely remember, who had such
insights...to have reflected on life, they never experienced yet ?...therefore,
i did not for a second, believe them to be true. *because all i learn, from
those beings, on my paper boy route..always said..,'experience is the best
teacher'!..which i believe to be true...however, when i read them
last night...someone outside our class...must have made these connections,
to that very simple saying....cos the 2 are the same. funny, those words
that were not directed to me, can described..."alot of the choices". i made
and experienced life......isn't that a hoot? [ after all these years...]

soooo by looking back..i think alot of people that others never give a
second....thought....are living some amazing lives.....& i hope you gals
& guys ...see just a lil'the amazing things i see in you! :grouphug:

fyi, sharing my family, there is nothing more improtant in my life today.
before, my lil'miss....i always thought it was $$$$. oh, how wrong i was!

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Well, the Cats lost yesterday but we played a good game and we're still 6-2 so no biggie. We're still bowl worthy. Three big games still ahead....Vandy, TN, and Georgia. Thanks for your happy thoughts!

We went over to our friends' house and ate lots o' junk food....five helpings of everything. MMMmmmmmmm!

Today is BBQ sandwiches, hash brown casserole, cole slaw and ice cream sundaes at church. I made four full stream trays of hash brown casserole on Friday and the BBQ is ready to go so not lots of work to do there....just warming.

LIL G! I loved your pictures! You were such a cute lil LilG and your babies are beautiful. How old are they all now? Isn't Jordan 12ish? My girls were almost 11 and 7 when DS was born and he was their doll baby. I also like the "see with new eyes" reading from your yearbook. Very insightful! I wonder who wrote it? Are you sure it wasn't you?

Wendy! Hope you got some sleep, woman! Snow already? Does it always snow this early in Utah? Sams Club already has up all the Christmas stuff too. DS asked yesterday when we could put up the Christmas decorations! :upsidedow Good job on organizing the toys while Norah's not looking. I'm gonna hafta send the lil kids out of town so I can "organize" their rooms. We're way past McToys here! I may have to hire a dumpster!

PJ & Twinkie
....My DS's class is going to the pumpkin farm for a field trip so I'm off the hook on that one. But what a BEAUTIFUL day to go yesterday!

Twink....I don't know what it was that was said that made me think that my assumption about the Goldenchild was wrong. That's for clarifying...even if it's not your middle name. ;)

Moo! Craft fair sounds like fun! Was that Christmas shopping you were doing?

Marita
...I"ve never watched Meerkat Manor but the commercials are on AP all the time and they are in their third season or something so it must be popular! DS loves AP! TLC and HGTV are my default channels.

MommyP....Hope you got some sleep last night. How were the biscuits? I'd cheat and use Pillsbury frozen cause they are better than any homemade biscuit that I can make. RE: Your Bible study debate...I agree with your dad for what it's worth. I'm no expert but Romans 4 says that Abraham is the father of all who are made righteous through faith. So the "complete Isreal" seems to refer to all who have faith...not just the Jews although it seems clear that the door will be opened for them too. I don't know what version of the Bible you have but it is interesting to read the chapter in lots of different translations and paraphrases. Just my 2 cents.

EVERYBODY ELSE
.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYONE!!! :flower3:

Don't forget what???

Just kidding. That is how all my mental notes go.

Pumpkins as the walmarts are 3$ per each here. Not much cheaper than the punkin' patch ones. However we only bought one at the patch cause it was an interesting (kinda like Frankenstein's head) shape.

 about Buddy the faker cat!

Hi Utah!!!:flower3: Snow way! It was 70 and sunny yesterday on the prairie. Now the wind is blowing pretty wildly.

PJ- Twinkie thanks you for that useful post.

Ok Tammy- hope you feel better! Rest up. And is this the real reason y'all were at the hospital?????

Dolly Parton visits Porter Wagoner in the hospital in Nashvegas

PS: I am caught up on all trip reports however I didn't post much. Behaving myself is really cramping my style.

Morning all,

Bright and sunny here today, no snow. Too early for snow. Mind you we have had snow flurries on Halloween before.

I went to laid down for thirty minutes last night because I had a headache, this was at 8:00 -- I woke up at 8:30 this morning. Hubby let me sleep and put the kids to bed.

Tammy-- hope your feeling better and the pain is less today.

Twinkie-- I was looking at your ticker and thought only a little over a month to go. Are you going to the doctors every two weeks yet? I forget when you start that.

Marita-- I just heard that Flower on that show died too. It was on the entertainment part of the news. I never watched it before either.

Moo-- I have started Christmas shopping too. Love going to little craft markets or shows because they are original and not the same thing people can get just anywhere. I bought Hannah and Nicholas teachers hand painted roses on a glass ball that says special teacher in gold and the kids names are on the other side. They were only $7.00 a piece and beautiful.

Well better get everyone moving...church then skating lessons.

Hey all!
I spent saturday night cleaning the house and doing needlepoint. I'm so boring! ha!
we didn't go to church today cuz tammy is feeling yucky still.
so I've got my homework done and now I'm getting to work on the needlepoint again! woo!

lex - I agree with your interpretation - the jews are God's chosen people, but that doesn't mean they'll get an automatic entry. and through faith, we're (gentiles) given the same opportunity to be "chosen."
you're always making something yummy!
how do you and your girls stay so dang thin?

yep twinks, you caught us!
we were visiting porter waggoner.
being as there are two degrees of separation and all (once agian, I know I've told this story, but repitition is fun! I was born at the same time as his granddaughter and his daughter shared a room with my mom - and he did not come to visit her, but Dolly did. cuz she rocks. and I met her. sorta. )

I pulled out my fake pumpkins today.
but I realized I don't know what I've done with all my battery operated tea lights to put in them. grr.

jeanie likes to carry them around cuz she can turn them on - and they all seem to be missing.

ok.
back to needlepoint!

GOOG AFTERNOON, SUNSHINES!!!
Mickey dome for afternoon snack.

It's funny that you said that because that's exactly what we did!!!! We were trying to carry the girls (they're 10 months and 2) AND pumpkins and diaper bags, purses, etc. and it really just wasn't going well. So, we put the pumpkins down and said to heck with it we'll just get some at WalMart. :rotfl: So, we went to a pumpkin farm and came back with no pumpkins!
Snow already? WOW!! I'm ready for snow but it's still really warm here.

PJ- Twinkie thanks you for that useful post.
Clarification, please. Which one? I mean, I find all of my posts to be useful, insightful, humorous, and witty. :rolleyes1

so I've got my homework done and now I'm getting to work on the needlepoint again! woo!
Okay, you like ALWAYS have your homework done. How is this accomplished? I'm so jealous.

I just made a to do list and it was so long that it depressed me. Whenever I have that much to do and the list is so long I just stare at it and feel overwhelmed and end up getting nothing done because it's just too much! Wish me luck....

Have a nice Sunday.
:grouphug:

Wendy, Happy 5555!!!

Snow already? Yucko. It is 73 here today, but really windy.

Yep, Melinda, I did a little Christmas shopping at the craft show! I'm trying to pick up things when I see them. Hash brown casserole sounds yummy.

Nab, sounds like you had some goog craft show shopping luck too :woohoo: The show yesterday was a little overwhelming, it was so big. The fall craft show that I really like to go to is next weekend.

Pumpkins at the cider mill were 29 cents a pound. A little pricey, I thought.

Cel, goog for you on getting so much done. I have been bum laying today but it's time to start hubby's laundry.

PJ, I can relate on the depressingness of to do lists. Which is why I don't make them anymore.

Lil Philosophizer said:
soooo by looking back..i think alot of people that others never give a second....thought....are living some amazing lives.....& i hope you gals & guys ...see just a lil'the amazing things i see in you!
Amen, Lil G - You just can never predict how other people's lives will turn out! And we see amazing things in you too :grouphug:

Clarification, please. Which one? I mean, I find all of my posts to be useful, insightful, humorous, and witty. :rolleyes1

I just made a to do list and it was so long that it depressed me. Whenever I have that much to do and the list is so long I just stare at it and feel overwhelmed and end up getting nothing done because it's just too much! Wish me luck....
1. I was refering to the most recent one but since they are all useful, insightful, witty and just plain fun, take yer pick.

2. Twinkie Tip #201 make the master to do list which is long and overwhelming, then pick the 3 or 4 things that are really priorities, put them on a new list, fold up the master list and stick it somewhere (I put it on my calendar) so it won't get lost... now you work from your short list without having to think about the long list- when those things are done make a new short list from your master list- sometimes making the master list helps me because all the "to dos" where taking up mental space and now they are safely pinned down on paper :upsidedow

Twinkie-- I was looking at your ticker and thought only a little over a month to go. Are you going to the doctors every two weeks yet? I forget when you start that.
I started every 2 weeks at 28 weeks. So I go this week (34) then in two weeks (36) and after that every week. :cheer2: I had the girls at 36 wks and Goldenchild at 38 wks.... so a month from now is about right. Unless of course the trend continues and Grasshopper waits until his due date. Ack! the horrors!

PJ & Twinkie

Hiya Lex! I missed this post earlier. I just wanted to say that your posts always make my day!

yep twinks, you caught us!
we were visiting porter waggoner.
being as there are two degrees of separation and all (once agian, I know I've told this story, but repitition is fun! I was born at the same time as his granddaughter and his daughter shared a room with my mom - and he did not come to visit her, but Dolly did. cuz she rocks. and I met her. sorta. )
I try to give the Nancy Drew gig a rest but still I can't help stumbling onto these things. ;) Maybe I shouldn't be such a meddlesome kid.....

We too didn't buy our pumpkins at the pumpkin farm. Our was a grocery store that had them for 97 cents any size. We got four. If it was up to the kids they wanted to full the cart.

Faker kitty is fine today. I'm glad we didn't fork out $100's of dollars to see the vet.:lmao:

It is beautiful fall weather here too. We were out enjoying it too. The trees are so nice this time of year. That is why I picked the fall to get married.

P.J.-- I can't even remember if I had a mickey dome at CM's that night.

Celery -- what are you needlepointing, a pillow, picture?

Hey everyone!

I have done nothing but bum-laying today. Woke up around 8:15, but went back to bed and dozed off and on till NOON!!!!!!!:scared1:

I have done NOTHING constructive today, not a thing. It's raining here today. And now I am about to take a nap to get ready for Desperate Housewives. Plus I should probably eat something (AN - after nap).

Celery, what are doing needlepointing, you should be working on your trip report!!!!!!!!!!

Nab, glad faking Buddy seems to be ok now.

Oh, DH and I got our invitations to Service Awards Celebration yesterday. Me for 35 yrs and DH for 30 yrs. A big banquet affair at the Contemporary on December 13. Last time (5 years ago) we had seperate nights. so DH went with DD and I went with my son. DD already said which dress she is wearing to be her daddy's date this year. Which is ok really, because we are placed at different tables anyway with out respective Senior Management people and other coworkers. I just dont know yet what my son's work situation will be then. I guess at least the 3 of us can drive together, do the before dinner mingling, picture taking with Mickey, drinking, snacking on fancy appetizer thing together. And I dont have to drive!!! Dinner will be followed by entertainment (ie some sort of show) some speeches, some special awards probably, then dancing. We are not doing the dancing part.

The choice of dinner entrees is:
A) Steak and Lobster
B) Chicken
C) Vegetarian

Guess which one we are choosing???????

Now I have been to my fair share of fancy banquets in my life, really. But what is really neat to see is for people like Housekeepers or Custodial people and other low paying job folks that never get to experience that kind of event to be able to experience it. You don't get to go to a banquet till 10 year anniversary, btw, and it spans over 2-3 days. (See Amendment below.) Yes, we have a lot of long time castmembers. I guess the fact that hubby and I are now both on the same night makes us special, 30 and over years (it also makes us OLD)

Amendment: I was going to add something about the invitation, which is really fancy. Castle in the clouds. with foldover clear plastic cloud cover fold over. Anyway, I just noticed, it said:20 year & above Celebration. I forgot that some years ago they changed anyone under 20 years to a NY Street Party kind of event at MGM, with food stations or something. So no fancy banquet till 20 years. although I have no doubt they have lots of food and entertainment at the other parties too.

PJ, I can relate on the depressingness of to do lists. Which is why I don't make them anymore.
I have a list making problem. I make lists of everything. My desk, planner, calendar, etc. are covered in post-it note lists. I would get nothing done without my lists. How do you remember what you need to do?

1. I was refering to the most recent one but since they are all useful, insightful, witty and just plain fun, take yer pick.
Either you're sucking up or you deserve the "A" for the day once again. ;)

PrincessJasmine08 thanks you for this useful post. I got about 5 things done, I think. Still a lot more to do before bedtime! But, right now I am going out to dinner with my grandpa. HotT college chick rule #1: NEVER EVER EVER say no to free food.

P.J.-- I can't even remember if I had a mickey dome at CM's that night.
It's okay, you can have yours now.

Marita...that banquet sounds AMAZING!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it. In like 2 months. :rotfl:

I second that were did the weekend go!!

Marita - sounds like a cool party. You yes you should get out more. What is your son doing now? Did he hear back for the air force yet?

P.J.-- at least yours doesn't have any calories right.

Moo-- did you have a Mickey dome? I just remember stopping Nicholas from having his second bowl of ice cream and getting picture of the characters.
