Thanks for the chat invite, ladies! I was hot tubbing (unwinding from a long day at work), then watching some TV

GOOG MORNING!

I slept in today....7:30! Everybody be really quiet. PJ's still sleeping.

My neighbor somehow convinced her husband to go out of town for the weekend and take ALL 3 KIDS! (I KNOW! I need to know those magic words.)

So she had a lil party on her porch last night for the neighborhood girlfriends. I was there for 5 hours as my daughter clearly reminded me when I got home.

Anyway...I saw Marita waving the flag and I went to chat and I was alone...I think. Now maybe there was a chat a lil later? Oh well...I'll keep trying.

The arctic winds are blowing and it's just 60 here right now and it's only gonna be 87 today! :thumbsup2 Thanks, NAB!

Have a good day!!!

kimmie - can you explain the webkinz thing? I don't get it.

Hey celery! Since 10 bazillion pages have been posted since I was last here, I wonder if anyone gave you the Webkinz scoop?

NO?

Well, here it is: for a purchase of $13 for a Kinz (a stuffed animal), or $10 for a lil Kinz (they are cuter, I think-- more on the size of a beanie baby) purchaser gets a tag with a supersecret code on it.

Supersecret code is used to create an identity on the webkinz site (www.webkinz.com) and then the kidlets can see their animal on the screen. It starts with an empty room and some Kinzcash. The pet has a health, happiness, and hunger meter -- when the meters get low, the child can boost them up again by feeding, talking to or playing with the pet. There's a store to buy food, treats, furnishings, toys, etc for the pet, and games, jobs, and other ways to earn more "kinz cash" to buy more stuff.

It is sadly addicting, and I am wishing we hadn't jumped into this at such early ages. BUT on the positive side, there are some educational aspects of the whole thing, and even better, it gives me LEVERAGE!!

Hope all is well here! I don't have a prayer of reading all the 10 bazillion pages I missed, but wanted to answer Celery's question.

Hi, gang. Hope you're all enjoying your holiday weekend.

Lexmelinda The porch party sounds like fun. The fact that you got lectured for being gone 5 hours is pretty funny. Sounds like some serious role reversal going on!

MaritaWhat's this about you talking to yourself? hehehe No one would come out and play? Have I missed anything especially exciting in the last few weeks? Any further Cracker Invasions, or the like?

We're going to a fireworks program this evening, and hanging out beforehand with some "horse doovers." Should be fun. The program put on by The Genesee Country Village Museum is always first rate, and reminds me of Disney. The show always has a theme and the fireworks are timed to a musical score.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Babynurse -- hope it was to hard to get up for work this morning. I won't tell you when I got up....

Moo-- where did you go last night?

Kay-- Fireworks sounds like fun. Don't think you missed much.

Lexi-- your welcome. It gets pretty cool at night now here. It is so great for sleeping. You sure you don't live by me. Someone was out having a get together last night until 3:00 in the morning. So much for the window open. :sad2:

Hi Steph :wave2:

Off to the in-laws for the day....

HAPPY LABOR/LABOUR DAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!

Melinda, glad you got to have a ladies' night out and could sleep in this morning!!! I slept in til noon today.

Kimmie - Moo thanks you for that informative post! My niece has a cow Webkinz (that was so cute I was very tempted to swipe it when she had it at my birthday party last month) :lmao:

Marita, sorry you had a Miss Piggy invasion last night! :rotfl:

Hope it was more like this:

LOl , Moo!

It was a weird invasion, cant even explain it. Or maybe I just had too much to drink.

Kay, dont think you missed anything of great importance.

I got up early today (for a weekend day), at 10:15.

Hi Kimmie and Steph

DH and DD were about to go out to the grociery store in the middle of a typical Florida summer downpour (don't ask me WHY?), and DD opened the front door and the dog ran out!!!!!!!!!!! He made it back 5 mins later, wet as a, well, DOG! And he is big, we used 3 frigging towels to dry him off.

I found a fab new trip report, I have been reading for hours. Havent made it all the way yet, and haven't even posted, but if you are lookiing for some entertainment this weekend, here you go:

Look for the Wicked Stepmother title if you dont link now.

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone, see ya later!!!!!

You make it sound like its illegal!!!!!!!
:rotfl2: Trying new foods IS illegal for me. I have very strange eating habits and I'm pretty picky.

Perhaps you should close your laptop and take some time to broaden your culinary horizons.....?
Thanks for the suggestion, BigL, but I think not....
I did eat a part of a black olive last night though which I had never eaten before. It tasted like salt.

GOOG MORNING!

I slept in today....7:30! Everybody be really quiet. PJ's still sleeping.
Thank you so much for your consideration!! I slept till like 9. It was really nice! I was up from about 3 to 5 this morning having issues though. :sad2: I texted the babynurse around 4:45 just to make sure she didn't oversleep!

Babynurse -- hope it was to hard to get up for work this morning. I won't tell you when I got up....
You are so mean! First you wouldn't let the poor woman leave chat and then you rub it in when she's tired in the morning! I would never participate in such activities.

I just ran errands all morning. I went to Costco, Target, Office Max, Walgreens, Hallmark, and the Post Office (*cough*for babynurse*cough*)! I feel so accomplished. My best friend is coming over now and we're going to take a picnic to the park and rent a paddleboat because it is an absolutely gorgeous day. Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

kimmie - Thanks for the webkinz info! no one explained it like you did. I appreciate it. and I know I will not be buying any for Anthony anytime soon.

moo - ACK! That second pic was CRAZY!

the foster kid's room is ready and I helped my mom paint her kitchen today. Wooo!
But now I'm worn out. I took a nap, but I still haven't bounced back.

Moo Hooty on having the kid's room ready, Cel!

Can't wait to hear about the first one you get!

Carp, I amost forgot, tell us about it! We need pics!

Sorry for the crazy picture, Cel! There was just something about Marita's post that made me do it ;) Wow, you have had a busy day.

I have just been chilling out all day today. I need to get busy tomorrow and Monday and do some picking up and vacuuming so the house is presentable for next weekend when my DD and grandpuppy visit!!! :cool1: :woohoo: :yay:

I have been having fun reading trip reports today. THREE WEEKS TO GO!!!

Hi Pumba, I have a big, big TV too, like 62". Unfortunately, that was 2 years ago, when it was not skinny yet, so it's also like 3 foot deep!

You are great grandmother, care to adopt me? I need a new laptop soonishly, before this one dies :)

Hey, Java, congrats! I would say wave to me from across the lake, but I hope to be gone from there by then, LOL. Not the BW!, the other place! And NO, I do NOT want to work at BW.
