poly, did the guests of honor ever show up to your DD's party? Sounds like you're the "fun mom"! Our house isn't set up that well for parties. Wish we'd had a family room or finished basement.

My DD has had several parties since she started living in a house for grad school. It sounds like the get together at the drop of a hat!

Matt finally showed up at 7:45 .after everyone waited as long as they could and ate dinner. His sister, Anya, had to work and came after. They are all still here and we're about ready to push the eject buttons on them.

Hmm, I never had the kids have a party at my house. Guess its not really condusive. A living room and 3 bedrooms, and a yard that is not party friendly.
Can't say I ever missed it though, LOL!

our house is large enough to have the kids over and we still have space. We have a family room as well as a large addition we put on 5 years ago. They were on our deck til it got dark ,then were in the addition . Never knew they were really here.

Oh, my DD did manage to have a few parties here - our yard is great for having bonfires. And the hot tub was fun for her and her friends the past few years.

But we never liked having to vamoose from the living room when she had friends over. And the kids usually didn't like having parents hang out with them very well, so they typically had parties at other friends' homes where the could hang out in the basement or family room with only occasional parental checks

Maybe they'll move on to one of those late night breakfast places, poly! My DD often does that with her friends when she comes home to visit.

Mooo hooty!!!!! Still no internet but for the next two weeks I'll be at my parents... who have touchtone phones, a microwave AND the internet.... yee haw~!

What is taking so long with the Internet, shouldn't that be your TOP priority?

Well, too get a goog deal (and I got a sweet one) I had to go with a new company who is so swamped handing out goog deals that they can't send someone to hook us up (literally) tell June 30th.

It was kind of nice to have no tv and internet... I got so much done. And lots of time to play with Golden Child. His vocabulary has really taken off!

Twinkie-- glad everything is okay with you. I know libraries now time you on the computer. Our is 120 minutes per session and you have to put in your library card number.

Yep- I had to go to the DMV (aka the outer circle of hades) to get a new lisc. to get a library card to get a computer for 60 minutes... but Golden Child only lasted 30 and that involved letting him eat a pack of gum and wear lipstick. I had a couple of actual work things to take care of so only a few minutes to do a quick drive by. Sorry to be rude but wanted to say hi!

I feel like Tom Sawyer. We've been staining the kids playset. If I never see a paintbrush again it won't bother me in the least.

I often hand scrub the kitchen floor because it typically needs it by the time I get around to cleaning it. No clue on how to clean wood flooring. Call Molly Maids or someplace like that! Or draft your kids into doing it

My kids like to do the floors. Especially since they discovered they can wrap their feet in towels and skooootch around to dry them.

I vote for Merry Maids.
How would it be to have a maid? I KNOW I'd clean and tidy before they came over to clean. Really, to have her view the boy-toilet would embarrass ME!

Lexi -- My birthday is March 24 .

In the big scheme...we are practically birthday twins. My birthday is 3-3.

We picked Jeanie up for church last Sunday, kept all 3 kids the weekend before, and then picked Quentin up after church last weekend and kept him and Jeanie until about 8:30 that night so that their mommy could work on a paper.

I don't do windows. Have never been able to do them. They always look worse after I've cleaned them, so I don't anymore. My husband LOVES to do windows.

Is your husband for hire? We just had the exterior of the house painted and my husband told the painters NOT to put the storm windows back on before they cleaned them. Now I can see the neighbors house! And they can see me. What time did the party end? Sounds like they had fun!

Yes! I have a squirt bottle of diluted and ready to use Murphy's under my kitchen sink...just for little clean up. (read: geriatric dog) And it smells really good too!

The last of the kids left about 12:30 and the mess ( what little there was) had been cleared before . you'd never had known there had been a get together.
I should hire my husband out- he CAN clean windows!
I love Murphy's too,though not the "orange". That left a residue on the floors and it was hard to get off.
Good going at Cel's today. I had to guess on the rock question and of course, picked the wrong band! Geesh! why couldn't it have been a Beatles question!

Sandy, have her keep a book on her nightstand. Tell her if she can't get back to sleep to read a bit. That may work, however, mine would sometimes read an entire book and never go back to sleep
