Heading to Montreal for a conference next weekend. Will stay in a downtown hotel ~ close to Eaton Centre. DW is interested to bring DD3 along.

How's the weather like in Montreal now? Any snows?

Any particular places that DW can take DD3 around, while I've gone to work? We don't know much about Montreal, except the huge underground city :goodvibes

Ouf! I'm from Montreal, and we leave north of the city. Next weekend halloween will be over, so Botanical Garden for the Pumkins exposition is over.
But, at that same place there's the Biodôme, a place were you can feel and experience the 4 seasons in one place! Check the internet site:

But its not near the Eaton Center, she would have to take the bus or the taxi. If you want to ice skate, their is the

1000 de la Gauchetière, is a big place to skate inside, that is nearest to were you'll stay:

Since its kind of cold at this time of year, that's about what she could do with your dd3.

Good luck! :)

We took our daughter to Montreal when she was about 2 years old and she loved the Biodome at Olympic Park. She had a grand time exploring through all the biospheres and looking at the fish, the penguins and the various animals. It's a place I now recommend for all Montreal bound travellers.

Here are some places we take our 3 year old here in Montreal:

This science centre has a great interactive area themed like a castle. The rest of the museum might be a bit much but this area of fun is worth the price of admission. It is located in the old port. A great raining day place.

The Biodome is next to Olympic Stadium. The penguins are fun. The Metro goes right there. Just ask at the hotel and they can tell you the right subway line to take. My daugher loves that ride too.

The Museum of fine art is also right downtown. They do have some kids programs,

This museum is in Old Montreal as well. Almost accross the street from the science centre. Some interesting stuff...more for adults than kids there age though. Our daughter only does a short time here but does have fun.

If you are only here for the weekend then I would do the Biodome one day and Old Montreal/Old Port the next. The horses drawn caleche tours are down there too so even if you do not go on one you can visit with the horses. If you have any more question please let me know. ....the old Forum has been converted into 22 movie theatres but they have still kepts some of the seats and other character to it. We live close to downtown with a toddler.
