Month of September WISH Walkers and Runners Training Thread

Hi all! Thanks :)

Verticalchaos you'll do just fine! Have tons of fun!!! Cooler temps oh so nice :thumbsup2

Mamacrush have a blast on the Mickey's Halloween 5K! That is going to be so much fun!!!

Jackie ... Hooray on the 18!!!!

Ronda ... hope the 14 miles this weekend treat you well :) I thought about another 'training run with water stops' but darn it if the season for Half's ends next month (at least local enough to drive to & want to do LOL) Have a blast on the Kansas City race!

Carrie ... I thought you did a swim workout or core workout after a really really late return from a race earlier this year? Thanks!!! I was pretty pleased with showing up at the gym. I wanted to tell Bethany & Em about my race at the gym so that helped push me to get there :)

Did a 5 miles run/drag last night with Keely. I hate squirrels LOL But it was so nice seeing some more fall decorations around the neighborhood. Beautiful yellow mums caught my eye. Pumpkins are appearing scattered throughout. Still just the 1 blow up Frankenstein with pumpkin. And he must have had a better day yesterday since he was a perked up (instead of deflated on the ground, poor Frankie). Keely was still up for more at the end so the temps were better for her. Had to slow a bit here and there due to a day of rain & leaves making me nervous about slipping. But all in all just under 1 hr and 4 min. :) Though my legs were tired! We had a nice longish walk to cool down so I'm not stiff today.

Have a great Wednesday!!! And to those flying/driving down to Disney tomorrow (& this weekend) Happy Safe Travels!!!! Have the bestest times ever racing this weekend!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

OMG, I forgot! Can't believe you remebered. Yes, it was the day after Princesss after flying all day. I had swim class at 7 or 8 pm. Had already missed 1 of 4 sessions, so I had to go. I almost drown. :p However, those were extenuating circumstances. I still think you win for going on the elliptical by your own choosing! :goodvibes (Not that it's a competition. Just so impressed by your workouts)

Hi everyone,

I've been reading along but haven't posted much on here. I'm still plugging away at the C25K. I have my last run for week 8 tomorrow. Then next week is week 9 then I'll be a graduate

Still debating which method to use to go forward to the half. I'm definitly going to do a "Galloway like" walk/run interval but it I think I may use the Hal Higgdon novice schedule to plan out my runs since i only have 14 weeks to work with between the end of C25K and the 1/2 in January. I don't want to push it too hard.... just hard enough not to get swept.

I find reading about all of your training very motivating. Keep up the good work. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone. I'm a newbie to this thread. Hope it's ok to just jump in here. Everyone on here seems pretty motivated, which is a good thing. I'm in week 2 of training for Goofy, after only ever running one half in April. But, it can be done, right? ;)

Tandy

lolakay - Have you checked out MArathoning for Mortals? DOn't recall if it's 14 or 16 weeks, but gentler than Higdon. Be sure to pop in and tell us how traning is going. For every bit you let us know here, you get at least double back!

Tandy - Welcome!!!! Yes it is possible. I hope you have continued to keep your base up since April. We did a marathon going from 0 to marathon in 10 months. DOn't recommenend it, but if you are smart and work hard, you can do anything!

Good luck to this weeknd's racers!

Time to start the October Thread.

Welcome lolacat and rubato

Jump right in...some one will be starting the Oct. thread soon so look for that.

So...the weather was a little cooler today and I pulled out my running skirt with attached capis. They felt "weird" while I fixing breakfast and packing lunch for my son, but when he left, I took off for a run. During the first mile I thought "these things are on backwards" so back to the house and turn then around. The next miles went well, although it wasn't that cold and I was over dressed. When I got home and was stretching I noticed the skirt hem was on the outside..."hum" so I wore my skirt backwards for the first mile and insideout for the next 5. Hope that gives you a good laugh and if you saw me today, I just want you to know I figured it all out. Have a great weekend!
