7-for-4 or 7-for-5 Package Offer for November 2009 - March 2010

Now you can purchase a fantastic buy 4, get 7 or buy 5, get 7 vacation package offer valid for stays November 1 - December 24, 2009 through January 3 - March 27, 2010.

Here are the details:

Buy a 4-night/4 day vacation package at a MODERATE, DELUXE or DELUXE VILLA resort, get a 7-night/7-day package. That's 3 FREE hotel nights and 3 extra days on your theme park admission tickets, equivalent to a 43% discount on your room and tickets! You must buy a package that includes at least 4 nights' accommodations at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel plus minimum 4-day Magic Your Way Base Tickets to qualify for the 3 FREE nights and the 3 extra days on your tickets.

Buy a 5-night/5 day vacation package at a VALUE resort, get a 7-night/7-day package. That's 2 FREE hotel nights and 2 extra days on your theme park admission tickets, equivalent to a 29% discount on your room and tickets! You must buy a package that includes at least 5 nights' accommodations at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel plus minimum 5-day Magic Your Way Base Tickets to qualify for the 2 FREE nights and the 2 extra days on your tickets.

Extra days on a ticket don't cost that much, so the primary savings are on the hotel room portion, so the higher category hotels offer the most total savings.

To calculate your approximate savings on a "buy 4, get 7" package at a Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa resort:

  • Multiply the room rate (2009 or 2010) times 3 (savings of 3 nights' room rate).
  • Add $9.58 per person (ticket savings for the 3 extra days).
  • The total is your savings.

To calculate your approximate savings on a "buy 5, get 7" package at a Value resort:

Multiply the room rate (2009 or 2010) times 2 (savings of 2 nights' room rate).
  • Add $6.39 per person (approx ticket savings for the 2 extra days).
  • The total is your savings.
  • You can stay longer than 7 nights (up to 10 nights) with this package, but there is a maximum of 3 free nights and 3 extra days per ticket, per stay, if you will be staying in a Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa resort, or 2 free nights and 2 extra days per ticket, per stay, if you will be staying in a Value resort.

You can stay less than 7 nights, but you still must purchase 4 nights at a Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa resort, or 5 nights at a Value resort, so you'll end up with fewer free nights/extra days. The minimum total stay to make this offer worthwhile at all would be 5 nights at a Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa resort, or 6 nights at a Value resort. Obviously a 7-night stay is the best deal!

You can add the Quick Service Dining Plan for 2009 or 2010, the regular Dining Plan for 2009 or 2010, or the Deluxe Dining Plan for 2009 or 2010, but you will pay full price for your dining plan (no free days of dining).

The package includes standard Magic Your Way Base Tickets. You can upgrade them with the Park Hopper, Water Parks & More and/or No Expiration option(s), but you'll pay the regular price for those upgrades.

This offer cannot be applied to the Premium or Platinum packages or to "split stays" (for example, 4 nights at one hotel, 3 nights at another).

You must book this special package by 12/20/09.

Since all you folks are more experienced then me at running i wanted to throw out my situation and see if anybody else has had this problem. The Doctor sent me to a Physical Therapist whom is now sending me to a Podiatrist. I have moderate to intense muscle (?) pain above and to the right of my right knee. The PT says there is no back issue here. She is a little baffled as to the cause of my pain. Depending on what the Podiatrist says i guess an MRI would be next. Just curious as to if anybody else has experienced this type of problem.

Dale - No great info for youbut it sounds liek you are going thrugh the right channels. :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Maura - COngrats with being done with the c-oscopy! Not looking forward to my first in a ocuple yearas. Ugh. yay for the hidden mickey! BTW, we were actually able to see the history-ending win on Sunday. Keep in mind tha twe are beyond blackouts if you want to see the LIons.

Debra - Thansk ofr the info!

Anne - Thought baout you while doing suqats and lunges on wii active last night!

Vicky - COngrats on sleeping in!

Kara - :wizard: for hthe shin splints. Yay for going to WDW!!!

Terri - Woo hoo for HI!!! Glad you had a fun vacation adn had a pratner for the race!

My 8-miler Saturday was much better. wEither my legs are getting back in gear or the cooler weather helped. EIther way, I'll take it. Was too nasty to run last night and we hate the TM, so we id Legs and Lungs ont eh wii active. :scared1: Definitely got a wrok out!

Dale- Is the pain on the ourside of the knee or slightly higher, like in the outside of the muscle? If it is the outside of the knee my frist instinct would be Iliotibial band syndrome. If you plug it into Google you will get some stretches that I have found lesson the pain a bit.

I was thwarted in my run last night by the rain. The weather here isn't looking much better. I don't usually mind running in drizzle so in hind sight I should have sucked it up yesterday. The weather here today is pretty miserable.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will research it. The pain by the way feels like a deep muscle bruising above the knee and on the side of the calf just below the knee.

Hi everyone!

Terri - Congrats on your half! I'd love to do a race (or just vacation) in Hawaii someday. Can't wait to see your medal pics!

Anne - I tried to extend my plane tickets to stay for RFTT but it was too expensive. I'm bummed because the medal is so cute! I'll just have to wait to read everyone's race reports when they come back.

Dale - I had similar knee pain on my left leg when I first started running. Not sure if we had the same condition though. My doctor told me I had PFS and sent me off to the physio. I ended up doing a series of ART treatments with my chiro which was great for the pain. My PT has me doing a lot of core, leg and weight training. I still get knee pain from time to time but it's definitely a lot better. He focused a lot on working out the core so that my back and knee muscles weren't being forced to support the bulk of my body. I also lost some weight which I think had an effect on my knee pain too.

Carrie - You know what? I woke up early anyway. Same thing this morning. Maybe I just am turning into that morning person :) WTG on your weekend 8 miler! Gotta love those great runs!

AFM - I ran a great 1/2 on Sunday morning! I got to the start late but still managed to meet up with Kim and DH! Actually if I hadn't been late, I probably wouldn't have seen her. Exchanged hellos and hugs quickly and I was off to queue for the porta-porties and then off to join everyone else who was late getting into the corrals. I warmed up while lining up for the porta-porties and did lunges towards the corrals

The course was fairly flat - but it was pretty humid that day so I struggled a little bit. I was just happy that it didn't rain. I had hoped to run with a pace bunny group I never did catch up to the pace group I want I run with. That's my punishment for arriving late. I definitely did better with my gel this time - no mess and was able to eat it while walking! I finished the race with a PB of 2:15:47!! I beat my MacMillan time and knocked my time from last year outta the park (2:40:32)! What a difference a year makes :)

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Dale -

I'm no orthopedic surgeon, and I don't even play one on tv! :lmao: (However I have spent way too much time with a really good looking one, but I digress...) :upsidedow Anyway, I agree with Frank. I have ITB issues sometimes and have to do stretches and use a foam roller. Hurts like &^@% when you do it but feels oh so good afterwards. I think you are smart to have it looked at by a doctor though. Better safe than sorry! ;)

Vicky - Woo hoo for the PB!!!!!:banana::banana: SOrry uyou couldn't sleep in. I either hate it when that happens or am happy fro teh bonus time in my day. Never has indicated my becomming a morning person though. :rotfl:

Just got back from my Podiatrist. Evidently i have a hitch in my giddy up. She said i don't walk properly and my feet walk different from each other.:confused3. Because i started running everything has become pronounced there by causing the injuries. Plus i don't have a lot of time to train so i have basically overtrained. My Therapist is to retrain my gait and stretch my achillies. I guess the WDW 1/2 marathon will be more of a walk then a run. Thank you all for your input.

Dale - As long as you are retrainign your gait, you may want ot read Chi Running by Danny Dryer or find a workshop for it. Hope all goes smoothly!

Dale - Hey! Hey! There's nothing wrong with a walk! :thumbsup2 Besides, that way you'll get to take more of it in, which I HIGHLY recommend for your first time! :yay:

Hehe... gotta deal with it sometimes, though. This past Sunday I went out for 6+ miles (my last "tapered" long run) in near-torrential downpour. Can't control the conditions on race day, so I figure the same should apply in training.

Greetings Fellow Wishers:worship:. I don't know about y'all but i'm just a wishing i can start the WDW 1/2 in Jan. :lmao:Little humor (very). Anywho, current medical update from the much confused and misaligned Dale (:thumbsup2); most of the aches and pains (no comments Patty) have subsided to the point that the Dr. says i might have knee tendinitis. I had x-rays on my hip (horay) (another humorless joke) and knee. Both appeared normal (can't be said about the rest of me). So i was told to complete my PT and schedule an appointment with a Orthopedic specialist. Well we have some of the best in the country right up the street from us. So i go and schedule an appointment on the 23rd with the Morgan-Kalman Clinic. For those that don't recognize the name, they handle some of the top professional athletes in the world. Hey i'm an athlete and i'm number 1. At least in my book. So i deserve nothing but the best (now accepting donations to pay for the over priced care i will receive). I plan on hiding an autograph book in case i spot any famous people in the waiting room. Of course they will probably make me wait in the bathroom with the other common folk until my turn. Well thats it for now folks. For those of you racing this week end, burn up the pavement and stay safe.

For this being my 1st WDW 1/2 i plan on running just enough to not get swept off the course. If i hear that swishing noise coming i'm a burning rubber. I am naturally a sightseer anyhow so i will have to walk a lot or trip and fall a lot.
